This series of 40+ lectures was an opportunity for Randall to
organize and refine versions of his many PowerPoint shows.
It was loosely formatted and presented to a casual group
that had been assembling weekly for almost three decades
in a dedicated room with their own signs, toys and models.
Occasionally there are obtrusive interjections, off-hand
remarks or other disruptions to his stream of consciousness.
Please be tolerant of this eclectic class of true characters.

The first round of presentations were not all recorded;
those that were seem to be missing after a 2010 computer crash.

I am 70 now. My Great Aunt Marie painted a forest fire in the Absaroka in 1910. Every one thought she was nuts when she'd say the fire came from god. She was considered 'different' by the rest of the family. The painting is treasured for many of the wrong reasons.

I remember as a kid in Minnesota, watching the most spectacular meteor shower I've ever seen. There were so many and they were large with trails that lingered like glowing con-trails. It was the summer of '71 or '72. I believe John Denver observed this same meteor 'storm' when he was living in Colorado and afterwards immediately wrote the song "Rocky mountain high" . The lyric that says ; "I've seen it raining fire from the sky". To this day, I have not seen a meteor shower (storm) of this magnitude since.

Mr. Carlson ... very good, and informative, video describing comets and asteroids. Your presentations take approximately two to three ( 2 --> 3) classes. However, I believe that this very important subject matter could be better presented if the BS and "cackling" of your present student body be completely eliminated during your class presentation(s) to maybe be left to the end of said presentations to where their uncalled-for meaningless input would be sparred from us who are really interested in your information.

The Chicago fire and another significant fire both occurred on 08October1871. Peak of the taurid cycle. I can not remember the second fire, but it was one of the worst in us history. Some survivors claimed fire from the sky. There were also a significant number of other wild fires that day.

There are two people that I'd love to meet and just shoot the breeze with. They are Randall Carlson & Graham Hancock. 40 years ago I said that an asteroid or some meteor shower was what started the end of the ice age. Unfortunately, not to many people listen to a 13 year old.

When there is a mass ejection of plasma from our sun, is it possible that the Kepler belt can be effected? Heating up the surface of some of the objects in this asteroid field? And dislodging these objects and sending these objects into the inner solar system?

the pumpkin represents that the time of year when halloween arrives and the winter squashes are almost ready to be harvested, so pumpkins are perfectly ripe as halloween approaches anyway. Symbolizes a harvest of sorts, similar to thanksgivings larger "harvest" holiday. though halloween could have been traditionally the harvest holiday before the americas trademarked thanksgiving.

@33:00 What the hell are range grazing animals (Mammoths, camels, horses, and oxen) doing in Edmonton, Calgary and Alaska 12K yrs ago if they were all under 2 miles of ice? People assume that an "Ice Age" means there was ice everywhere. What is known for sure is that during those periods it was damn cold.
