How to Know if a YouTube Channel is Monetized or Not (Monetization Status)

How do I know is a YouTube channel is monetized? (Update: YouTube removed this feature)

This is a question I get asked a ton. And it's massively important when researching your new YouTube Automation or branded channel. In this video I'll show you how to check the monetization status of any channel.

I'll show you 2 different ways and I'll go into some bonus ways on how to check how a channel is "really" making their money.

If you are wondering why being able to see if monetisation statuses of channels is important. Then I would say it's because the are always rumours flying around stating what is and isn't allowed on youtube. There are grey areas. So if you want to know who's getting it right and who isn't. Then being able to check monetisation statues is a good gauge.

YouTube doesn't want us seeing that they're ambiguous about which channels or videos they choose to keep monetized. Controversies like the sniperwolf drama brought blowback for YT to demonetize her channel for all her years of plagiarism and not meeting YT's own Fair Use restrictions, not to mention her doxxing of another YouTuber. Apparently they did demonetize the channel but I bet they don't want people to have a way to monitor their application of demonetization for ToS breaches, especially for channels with huge followings that draw huge amounts of viewership and, for YT, huge amounts of advertising revenue. _Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?_ "Who will guard the guards?"

I tried the "command F" on page source on several channels and it never finds the word monetization. Even in channels with 1 M subscribers.

I'm thinking of replacing the videos on my website with embedded youtube videos but I'm not sure if there will be ads before them, is there a way of knowing if this will happen?

Biggest bs :

- gameplays channels can not get monetized (thousands of pubg mobile gameplay channels without any voice or music just Gameplays are Monetized and making thousands of dollars every moment)

- people say text to speech can't get Monetized because many other YouTubers are also using same voice so it will fall under resused content but in reality vocals can not fall under resused content because thousands of people around the world have similar vocals (and if a content creator us copy pasting complete scripts from chat gpt then it might be resused content because now vocals, script, brolls everything is not so original, there must be some things to be original or else channel is always at risk go beyond demonetizes

- brolls can also be not considered as re-used content and now a days there are ai video generators that can generate completely unique short clips which can be used in the video so it's not a big deal but alot of people using Envato Elements clips but atleast they got decent high-quality text To Speech so its not a problem either

I have vidIQ and there's no $ sign next to your channel name or any other channel's name. vidIQ must have changed that. When I view page source monetization doesn't show up on any channel except yours. That's only because it's your keyword or tags because it shows 59 occurrences. Anyway thanks for the video.

How To Check If A Youtube Channel Is Monetized (new method), On November 17, 2023, YouTube removed the “is_monetization_enabled” tag in the HTML of monetized channels. And i cant see whit VidIQ extension anymore.
What can I /we do?
