absolutely true I can't agree more your suggestions are practical and useful and I think when someone find himself among people who can't speak his own language at all and all his ability will struggle hardly to communicate with people fast and steadily and as they said :"if you want speak English then go to England "

Hi Jack, there is a monumental difference between an immersion course and an intensive course. An immersion course is total immersion which means 100% English is guaranteed. Unfortuantely any academy refers to their courses as intensive becasue they offer a few extra hours per week. 10+ students in class will never be intensive.
Families can be a great opporutunity to practice but students have only paid for a room and some meals. As a teacher, you must have heard of endless bad experiences. I have similar doubts about airbnb.
Please check out MovingOn Courses for a real immersion course. There are other schools that offer an immersion course but they are centred on a hotel, a lot more expensive and are generally isolated. tks

Well, it was two years ago when I was considering taking a four month course in English, but I change my mind...the other course I took wasn't either a good investment...I can say that these courses don't teach you how to use the language..there is too much grammar tasks and less real life situations. all in all, I think that Jack is the best solution for learning English ;)

Of course this sort of immersion courses might be of help, but as a previous stage I would strongly advice being involved in the local community of the language you are learning. So, if we are talking about English, then joining local British or American clubs is not a bad idea. Sometimes, you can even meet there native speakers who are also looking for language partners!
