Boss VE-8 using backtracks and connecting to mixer

How to connect the Boss VE-8 to a mixer and how to play backtracks with your Ve-8.
This was recorded using a GoPro Hero 8 with Media Mod. Mixer plugged into Zoom H5 (with X/Y mic capsule). The Zoom H5 output was plugged into the GoPro Media Mod.

I know this is an older video, but maybe you can answer me this: the signal from your iphone is stereo and the V-8 splits the signal in two mono signals, correct? Otherwise how would you be able to have 2 different mixes in the mixer-channels?

I want to use my V-8 with backing-tracks and click-track. I've got this far: Parameter on XLR and Line is on 7 (XLR and Line-Out mono). Stereo-signal into aux, click hard-panned left, backing-track hard panned right. I only use the right outputs of the v-8 to connect to an amp and pa so these only get the mic, guitar and backing-tracks.

But i use the phones-jack as in-ear monitoring. That way I'm getting the backing- and click-track as well as guitar and mic. The only problem is: my in ears are stereo, so the click is hard-panned left and the backing-track hard-panned right, which is pretty annoying... With a mono-cable I should be able to combine the two channels into one mono-channel, right? Or am I missing something...

Excellent. Very thorough. Soundcraft mixers are usually pretty good. What you think is channel bleed sounds to me as though it might be reverb that is being sent on both channels. I don't have a VE-8 and can't check how it outputs reverb, so I may be wrong.

This was a fantastic explanation. Well done. I do have a question. This unit as a type of auto-tune feature to help keep your voice a little more tuned, and I'm not sure the TC-Helicon has that feature. If anyone knows, I'd love to hear from someone.

This was great but you really need to show what is plugged in and to what, even a visual would be great to fully understand. Than you for taking the time to do this, remember a lot are new and have no idea what is plugged into what..just some advice.

So by doing that does the device pickup the key of the song for auto tune aswell from the track. Great video BTW 👍

At the 2 minute mark, can you explain why you went to settings and changed xlr to 4 and line also to 4? I'm very new to learning about Pa systems and I'm making of wish list of things I want to get, and I'm very interested in getting one of these.

Hi Deb, thanks so much for all your help with the VE-8. I am a novice guitar player running my Yamaha acoustic/electric through the VE -8 into my Fishman mini amp. I would love to add drums to my playing. Is it better to use a backing track with drums or purchase a Beat Buddy pedal? Which one would make it easier for me and if I did purchase a Beat Buddy would it placed before it enters the VE-8 it after and could all this still go through the Fishman amp? Sorry my post is so long, thanks for any suggestions you could give me. Regards

Wouldn't resetting to factory defaults delete all presets and adjustments?...Seems counter productive to spend a ton of time to dial this in and then have to redo it. Am I wrong?

I also love the Boss VE-8, but I have a problem. There’s a low hum that I hear, but when I put my toes on the unit, it (almost) goes away. Is there anything that can be done? (I’m using a Taylor acoustic-electric guitar and a microphone)

You dont explain what setting does or why you do it? Confusing. Plus use a musical instrument not a phone
