It makes me so mad whenever I hear a story about foster parents like that. If you hate children and in particular other people's children you should never be doing this job. There's a reason they are in the system, and the least you could do is to not worsen the problems and the traumas they already have. It really breaks my heart.

How could adults be like that?? If they didn’t want the child in the photos (which I don’t know why a mature loving adult wouldn’t) then at least leave them in the care of someone else while you go and take the photos. That’s so hurtful, poor child 😔

Yeah. Not fond of CPS, social workers, or the foster care system. Been there. Hated myself for years since.

As a former foster parent, I hate hearing about families like this. (Not the OP - he or she is da bomb.) We only had pictures done once while our kids were with us, and they’re why we had them done. Good or bad (and there were lots of both), the genuine smiles on their faces in some of those shots still make my day.

I wanna be a foster parent so bad. and I've already promised myself that every penny i get from fostering those kids will go towards giving those kids the best lives I can (school, clothes, treats for them, toys, etc)

This wasn't cringy, just outright cruel, evil, I'm glad she's doing well.

My uncle and aunt used to take in foster children, mainly boys. They made a clear distinction between family and them but he treated them all well. They were fed well and clothed. But once they reached high school they all had to get a part time job either in his workshop or at someone he knew. They got to keep all their enrings. At 18 they stopped getting support from the government but he would keep them until they finished highschool if they payed rent. Half the money he got from the government he put away and gave it to them when they left. Every one of them learned a trade or a way to support themselves by the the time they left. One girl managed to get a partial scholarship for collage, he gave her a interest free loan to cover the rest of it. By the time he retired and stopped taking in children 20 were fostered by them. They all came to his retirement party and thanked him for all he did for them.

My friend's parents fostered a few special needs children in order to pay for their down payment.
There are thousand of ways to make money, you don't need to use children to do so.

In my family everyone and anyone is invited to do most things. Parties, photos, heck even buying snacks at the grocery store. I can’t stand people being cruel to kids.

Your parents were one of the VERY few good sets of foster parents. I went through 10 different foster homes as a child, TWO of them were not in it for the money. Several of them were on SSI and took foster kids because the money they got not only didn't count against their benefits, but it increased them because we were counted as dependents.

Although fostering can have great outcomes, I wouldn't recommend it. I'm a foster kid and was constantly moving from home to home because of my disabilities (ADHD and seizures). I then moved to a Trinidadian family who treated me, despite me being a white Native American. like their own daughter. Well one day, after living with them for eight years, my half sister in need of a home moved in. A year goes by and she wanted to leave. When she did, she made a fake allegation against my dad and shortly after, I was removed from my home that I loved so much. I know it was a lie because that wasn't the first home she ruined, but my mother always believed in the good in people. My social worker failed to defend me, I complained to everyone who I thought would listen and do something, but nobody did. Kids are cruel and sometimes fostering isn't something worth doing.

I hope they got arrested too or at the very least never allowed to foster again.

Thank you, from the very bottom of my heart, that you turned that family in, to CPS.

Such a sweet ending tho, UGH I NEED TO BE A FOSTER PARENT SO BAD, but I’m only 20 yet. A good couple of years to go before I’ll be ready, but I’ll be there for those kids who really need someone!
