Honestly all the characters on this show are pretty one dimensional except Jared, who turns out to be this incredibly deep, complex, wounded, wonderful person. Woods had way more acting experience, which helped, but his inclusion really shows some self-awareness in the writing. Nice job and wonderfully acted.

They missed a really great opportunity on this show by not having Ed Chambers and Russ Hanneman be best friends.

Jared was already my favorite character, but the kitchen scene with Ed Chambers laughing confirmed it for me: Zach Woods is a comedy genius. This is the funniest scene in a show made of funny scenes.

HBO - PLEASE bring back Ed Chambers.

with how easily Jared brought Ed Chambers to life, it's almost curious to wonder if Jared is actually another one of his personalities, and "Donald" was another one of his personalities when he was under Gavin Belson. Perhaps Jared came from Donald finally become sick of Gavin's abuse, and as he left Gavin and came to Richard as "Jared" he decided to get away from the abusive relationship he had with Gavin, and took on a nurturing role with Richard.
