i think its freakin awesome that nowadays they start putting out Christmas decorations in November. that is just enough time to get all the Christmasness in, and get over it and not have to miss it that much when its over.

No they could make it so it would use the normal pinned socket. But to use the new BGA chips you would have to solder the BGA to a breakout board with the pins on it.

There will probably be BGA to LGA socket adapters you could solder on.

I honestly do not have a problem with the BGA coming in the future.
We will still be able to choose our aftermarket cooler, TIM, and retain overclocking abilities.
This is the mainstream boards as well, while the enthusiast level hardware will stay LGA.

The sky is not falling guys and gals. Its the natural evolution of technology.

What I do is go to newegg to find what I want as their product search is far superior but go back to NCIX or memory express to buy them.

LGA means the pins are on the socket, which in any modern "LGA" Intel chip they are. AMD however, i believe, still run PGA (Pins on chip, not on mobo)

Totally agree about Eneloops. It's almost like a magic.

i saw someone say about the bga thing is that people will just mod the motherboards and customize it themselves

A way to sort the items that are on sale in different price ranges would be nice. For example I've been tasked with getting someone a 15$ present, and I figure I can get them a little USB stick or something... But that huge list is mostly filled with items that are several hundreds of dollars in price.

Something along the lines of... "search for items between X and Y dollars", that'd be great.

I think by having a BGA motherboard is a great idea. If someone wants to purchase a motherboard with a CPU, they could have the chose of what motherboard and CPU they want really for their setup; however, the CPU that is going to be built in to the motherboard could be a high end CPU like the Intel 3970X and can bring the price up for the motherboard.

The problem with BGA is that if your CPU breaks, you have to buy a new motherboard as well because they are attached together, no more use for spare CPU/ motherboards :(

And I thought that I was the only one who used Eneloops in their salad!
