This literally saves $400 for an actual jointer. Seriously, Steve, you're my favorite woodworking Youtube channel... Comedic, informative, but most importantly, STRAIGHT TO THE POINT!

Thanks Steve, I just made one of these this afternoon. It made beautiful edges on pallet wood, no problem. You are by far my favorite woodworking guru on youtube!

Usually i don't build jigs from YouTube because they are just so darn complicated. I really appreciate how simple this was. Built in about ten minutes with one quick trip to the hardware store.

I don't understand why people dislike your videos. I've been watching your videos for awhile and I think they are helpful and entertaining. All of them

A great jig, but you should keep a couple things in mind when making it. First, neither Home Depot nor Lowes carries these toggle clamps in their stores, but do offer them online. So does Amazon for even quicker delivery. The clamps that Steve uses in his video seem to clamp by lifting up the lever, however the ones from Amazon that he provides a link to work by pressing down on the lever. That normally wouldn't matter, however when you press the lever down, the extended length of the clamp is just over 4". Steve says to cut the top board 4" wide, so if you fasten the clamp to the board even as little as 1/4" from the edge, the end of the clamp lever runs into the fence, and so you will loose the use of the straight edge of the top board. I know, as it happened to me!! To avoid this problem, cut the top piece of wood no less than 4-1/2", and maybe even 5", in case your clamps extend even further out!!

Him: comically exaggerate curves on boards

Home depot: exaggerate? Those look good

Was just thinking about a very similar method the other day. Glad someone could show it. It had to be you or Izzy sooner or later.

Thank you much for sharing this cool jig!!! It rescued my table top project as I couldn't figure out how to make a straight edge on store bought lumber. This is awesome :-)
