Videos circulating on social media on May 23 showed a crane about to remove the golden arches from a McDonald’s restaurant in the Moscow suburb of Khimki.

McDonald’s said on May 16 that it would exit the Russian market and would initiate a process of “de-Arching" restaurants as it looked to sell its “entire portfolio” to a local buyer.

The permanent move followed a March 8 temporary closure in the wake of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

People will just move on to other fast food outlets. What does it say about our modern world when closing burger bars becomes a national issue. Comical. Russians will see a drop in their cholesterol for sure. Those out of work can get jobs rebuilding towns and cities in Ukraine that their army destroyed.
