Always put the staple slightly angled on the post, to avoid cracks/splits. You put the staple vertically - and in a crack!

Very interesting, but I don't have all the equipment to do it this way. I'm running a fence line through a rocky and irregular forest. Maybe there's just no real way to make it all that tight in my situation.

I have a masters degree in education / teaching. I have 20+ acres of fence post that burned in a fire and need to re-fence myself. This is an extremely poor teaching video. Didn't show up close how to attach things like come along to wire, or any other wire connecting details. Please remove this video so it doesn't waste more valuable time for people like me. This makes me not want to buy my new supplies from TSC if that's who made this video.

I'm not sure if that's the correct way to use the come-along. I always wrap a chain to the strainer post or tree and use the cable end hook to pull from. Also hammering so close to the come-along cable is like to result in a damaged cable.

Thank you for the tutorial video. Though I was actually looking for a welded wire fence guide, I appreciate that tutorials like these exist on YouTube.

one thing you should address is how tight is tight enough. also piece of advice on the come along is don't tighten it with both hands on the lever.
