Fast and easy. Just take apart the whole washing machine to remove a little crud from a hose, then put the entire machine back together again. GREAT!

Just turn it on its side and access it from the bottom! I had to do this today. Much easier & less overwhelming than disassembling the whole machine top down.

At 5:18, that spring is difficult to put back on without a special (and expensive, around $70+) plier who's sole function is to expand that gasket wire spring to easily slip it back into the gasket groove. What I did was get two plastic zip-ties, looped into the little holes on each end of the spring, and forming two circles or handles, that I could now easily grab, and then find something of the appropriate length like a stick, long socket extension, or whatever you have laying around to expand the spring. I had a 1 foot socket extension but you could even use two people on each side pulling on the zip-ties since you've got two awesome handles, to slip it back into the gasket groove. Once it's slipped into the grooves, just cut the zip ties and pull them out.

Great video, love the step by step process. We are up and running! That giant snap ring is tricky, someone suggested putting a zip tie on each end of the spring; they did it for us.

Great video up to the point of "how to clean the hose." Took the advice of another reviewer and ran hot water through it. Based on the way it flows, I'm pretty sure I have a burned out pump. Ugh. Also appreciated the advice by someone to use my bike tools to remove (and later put back) the O-ring for the front gasket. I'm 61 and petite and I took an LD all-in-one apart BY MYSELF with the help of this video. Got my workout for the day. LOL Had to make some adjustments as the all-in-one has more connections, screws etc but couldn't have done it without this step by step video. Thanks Mike! :)

Where would us DIY'ers be without helpful people such as yourself. Thank for helping me diagnose an intermittent OE error code.

Thanks for posting this. It was very helpful. I've got an LG washer/dryer combo and the pump got clogged with dryer lint. I was able to clean it out and it's working properly now.

Here's the method that I used to get the metal ring reinstalled in case it will be helpful to anyone else. You'll need a second person and 2 pairs of needle nose pliers.

1. Rub a thin coat of liquid detergent onto the ring. This will make it easier to slip into place.
2. Start at the top, working both the left and right sides of the ring into the groove at the same time.
3. When you get about half way down, slip the tips of your needle nose pliers into the 2 eyelets that the spring connects to.
4. Pull the 2 pairs of pliers away from each other. This will stretch the spring and allow your helper to work the ring the rest of the way into the groove.
5. If the spring isn't lined up correctly after you get the ring all the way into the groove, you can use the pliers to stretch the spring again and rotate the ring so the spring lines up correctly.

Big Thank you to the efforts of this video, this should be a wake up call to the manufactures to start engineering their products for end user replaceable parts. With the help of this video (during Covid) I changed this myself for $40CAD. A front door access panel would be a simple design to avoid the 30 min. it takes to get to this common replaceable part. Well put together vid.

This video is one of the best I have ever seen for conveying key steps in a logical fashion and quickly. So gratefuI for you providing this video ! Thank you so much ! I was super pumped after going through this whole process, getting the drain hose out and unclogging the crud that had become jammed in there probably started with a hairpin. MB's advice to replace pump at same time is a good idea but one I didn't follow. I put everything back together and put the washer through a tub clean cycle. Everything went tiketiboo. However later on the washer continued to read OE part way through cycling which got worse until it wasn't draning at all. Yes the pump was shot. But the second time through in one week went much faster and the washing maching is up and running perfectly. Yipee ! The metal ring is hard to put on for sure. I used one pair of pliers for the spring and a bicycle thingamjig used when removing and installing tires that slides under the rim and is used to pry tire without damaging tube. Several attempts were required before it was seated properly, it was trying to minimize the distance away from the seal keeping ring in line rather than pulling away. BTW it is possible to run the WM without the pump by opening the drain hose every time the pumping noise came on . We managed to do several loads that way before getting fixed. Macgyver it !

Great video! My problem was a clogged filter drain hose. By following your step by step, I was able to disconnect the mini-drain hose, use a wire to clean out the sediment, and flush it out. Thanks!

Dude you have no idea how much you saved my butt. Thanks so much for the video. Saved me probably $800 dollars which I don’t have. Like seriously I needed a win and this video gave me it. Thanks again!

Easy to follow and thorough. My drain pipe needed cleaning bad! It’s gross what came out. But I found out I also needed a new drain pump. So I had to take it apart twice. But at least I know my drain pipe is also cleaned out. Thanks for the video!

Thanks for posting this. It was a big help. My washer stopped draining after trying to wash latex backed rug that dissolved into terrible mess of latex bits and cloth. After cleaning the filter the drain pump would not turn on. Just a hum and the OE code. I took it apart to check the drain hose and there was no clog. Pulled the motor off the pump and it seemed OK. Put everything back together and ran a load and everything worked. I have no idea what was wrong.

Your video addressed exactly what is wrong with my washer, so I'm super grateful. It is a bit intimidating taking apart the washer, but I might strike up the courage to do it. Thanks!

Thank you! Although that tension ring is real painful to put back, your video was very helpful and saved us from having to call someone.

Great video! I was able to fix the clog. One question though. Just how many swear words do you recommend using while installing the snap ring? Because I went through every one I knew and it wasn’t nearly enough.

Thank you for the video! You saved our washing machine. The ring was difficult, but after a few #$%*! words, I was able to make it stay in place.

I found a good solution for cleaning all of the crap out of the hose without much hassle (not shown in the video):

1. After disconnecting the drain line from the water pump, I put an ice cream bucket under it in front of the machine to catch water as I "reverse" it.
2. I pulled the other end of the drain line out of the house plumbing.
3. Turn off the washing machine hot water line at the wall, and disconnect hose from washing machine.
4. Attach hot water line to the drain that you pulled out in #2.
5. Turn it on, and the black, nasty crap will flow out into the ice cream bucket. Took me a few cycles and trips to the sink to dump it, but less than 15 minutes overall.
