Fantastic video, Pete. Very good info and in a great format. Can't wait to see your Top 10-12 fullsize guns. I have begun spraying vehicles as a hobby and have a large air compressor. My "best" gun at this time is the Walcom Slim Kombat, but have been looking hard at the Prolite, and here in the States, we can get a kit with 3 needles and two different caps. Although I am also considering the Slim Xlite with a couple different tips. Mainly thinking about a dedicated primer/sealer gun and a dedicated base/clear coat gun. Thanks again Pete for the videos, I am learning alot from them.

I've use a most of these Guns and I pretty much agree with you, I'm a Iwata guy there well priced and spray beautifully and I've used them for over 25 years, I like Devilbliss guns I also think your right about the sata although I would have put it a bit higher on the list they make some of the best Guns money can buy but over priced

Yeah the DV1S is expensive, but as long as it delivers the best finish right of the gun, Devilbiss can ask what they want. 🙂 So you can't fault it's price as long as there isn't a cheaper gun that sprays the same, imho.
Good review Pete!

Hi Pete-Nothing to do today but watch painting videos as I've a nasty case of flu. Well that's not really totally true...as I've just ordered a 4400 rp 1.0 sr from SGD. Set out to buy a w300 1.2wb for a dual use middy. Well the sata delivered w/ cup was $326 USD. The iwata was near 500 (no cup) and hardly no one had it. I've been Sata guy since the 80's, but lately the iwatas (kiwami 4, wbx.)Have been my latest choices. I was expecting to pay more for the Satajet but maybe that's changing (at, east in Europe/UK at least). I'm intending this for spot repair only so 1.0 was my choice. I already have an r150 but while I like it it does not hold up. I've replaced the packing 3 times and I'm told this is normal if you tear down after every spray session. I will be relegating the r150 to blow in thinners from now on. My question is -is this the same for all ani minis models? Keep up the great videos.

Great review!.
May I suggest for each gun review in future videos, provide a very clear still images / 2-3 second video of the caps of each of these guns - that is such a critical part of the gun and helps users understand potential differences and correlation between cap design and performance.

You should get the Masterpro-22 mini touch up gun. I have the 1.0 and also ordered 1.3 tip. It sprays clear very well. 1.0 tip has 8" fan, the 1.3 bigger.

Pete, I was doing a blend on my son's car with my LPH80 yesterday thinking "it would be nice to have another mini gun for clear base". So I checked this review and was surprised to see the meiji final force R (love my final force R for base by the way, still haven't tried clear), and W300, both of which I would classify as midi guns. And no W50 or final spot in this comparison. I know the lines are blurry, but it would be nice to have a comparison of just the smart repair type guns. Cheers mate!

That was the best mini gun review I've seen on YouTube fantastic mate very well made and presented I was surprised you put the DV1S at first place as I know you find it slow plus it is IMO over priced but it's the best mini gun I have in my little collection.
Not sure if you know Pete but when you were doing the 6th place gun the screen went crazy with coloured streaks down the screen so we didn't see any of the 6th place gun, it didn't bother me as the audio was there so we knew what was happening.
Anyway mate as I said a really interesting video so well done as we needed a good mini gun shootout, it's 10/10 for me mate 🙏👍

Hello what would you recommend for painting repairs and small parts on kitchen cabinets etc, I have to go back to suppliers if I need small scratch repairs or a bespoke part making and painting, if I could do it myself it would be a great bonus thanks

Really good video Pete, , I think one of my best value for money guns has been my ANI R150, but I was surprised to see The Iwata W300 in second spot, I missed out on getting one of those but I will put back on the list. Either way I think you did a great job on this top 12

Some of the Tulip style tip guns Iwata makes come in 4 cuts in the tip like the older LPH 400 LX and in a 3 cut tip like the Kawami 3. Have you noticed any difference in these tips between 3&4?

Just thought id drop you a comment Pete. Been watching a few of your vids...ive only got a 50 litre hyundai silentl compressor, it puts out about 11.6 cfm.
I was using a fastmover LVLP gun but really they are a lie as they are an air hog imo. Anyways based on this video i bought the ANI r160 and its perfrct for me...lays down base and clear much smoother with far less texture to cut and buff.

Appreciate the vids. Cheers.

This is such a good video I was salivating all along :-))) Anyways, I upgraded my little Makita compressor to a gigantic one (in my eyes only 🙂). Its tank size is 27 gallons at 5hp, and delivers 7.1cfm at 40psi. With these parameters, am I qualified to use a full size gun? It needs to have 1.4mm nozzle because I have to use either epoxy or Rustoleum enamel paint, and they require 1.4mm opening. I was thinking of Kiwami 4 series with a centered cup. What do you think, Pete??

what spray gun would you recommend for spraying electric guitars? (solid colors and clear coats). I have a 1.8HP 26 gallon air compressor that does 5.5 CFM at 40 PSI. I have tried a couple of full size HVLP guns but the compressor is not big enough it seems. They require around 12 CFM at 30 PSI or so but it seems every compressor capable of this would also require a 240V line which I dont have
