This is a pretty good guide. I managed to survive 2 years.
My parents and authorities still don’t know where I am. Luckily I spawned in a house with a few chests I raided for resources and just dug my dirt prison in the Garden where I still have internet connection and dug through some wiring to charge the phone I stole.

I remember playing hardcore Minecraft. My record is two weeks, where I somehow spawned really close to a mushroom forest, took a mushroom cow, built a fishing rod and found a cave next to a lake. There I managed to fish out a bowl and survive inside my cave, living on fish and mushroom soup.

By placing a torch, this mans has revealed either one of 3 things:
-He has grabbed resources (two blocks of wood and a singular coal block minimim) prior to mining down this dirt block, which means he should not be at full hunger, making this run a scam.
-He spawned into this world with a bonus chest, something that shouldn't be possible in Hardcore, meaning he is cheating.
-He found a village and stole a singular torch before tunneling straight down.

The fact that his exp meter has grown 2 bars along with him placing a torch, that means he actually had to mine coal and wood, no bonus chests nor villages, meaning he should've starved to death.
