Kite Aerial Photography (KAP): Using an FPV video downlink

I'm new to Kite Aerial Photography (KAP), and I've been trying to refine my technique to get smoother and smoother video. I'm making progress, but one unknown variable has always been knowing WHERE my camera is pointing. In this video, I show how an inexpensive "FPV" camera and monitor can relay that useful information.

You're so right about how nice it is to not hear a noisy drone. It's one of the things I like about KAP as well. It's also about keeping an old hobby alive. Great work!!

That’s really cool. I was curious how it all worked. Great work!

Im just planning to start doing this. This is a great video. It would be great to be able to eliminate the wind rumble noise but keep the lovely background wind noise. I wonder how that could be achieved?

FPV - first person view. Some very nice stable footage there. And looks like the FPV camera works well in terms of composing your shots. Though I am surprised at the tilted horizon at the end. I assumed that a gimbal + picavet combo would pretty much eliminate that.

Nice job -- Thanks for sharing! Inspiring.
I used to do KAP all the time (major satisfying hobby). Still have many huge kites and a couple rigs, so may take up again. Are there any active forums like there were a few years ago?
