Показать описание
In this video we will discover the history of the Colossus of Constantine, one of the most important works of antiquity, probably the biggest statue in Rome from the late-ancient period depicting the famous emperor who granted freedom of worship to Christians. 13 meters tall, the Colossus was recreated starting from the original marble pieces of the 4th century AD through innovative reconstruction techniques.
Together we will retrace the various stages that led to its reconstruction with the help of technology and careful philological and archaeological analysis of each individual fragment up to the most recent hypotheses about the reuse of a previous statue reworked to represent the emperor.
