Colossus of Constantine Tour in Latin 🏛 Rome, Italy

The Colossus of Constastine has been rebuilt in a full scale replica, which may be visited in 2024 in the garden of Villa Caffarelli in Rome, Italy. This 21st century recreation based on the fragments of the original found in the Roman Forum in the 1400s is an astounding way to get a sense of the massive scale of Ancient Roman art and architecture. While Constantine is hailed as the first "Christian" emperor, is that title really deserved?

This was my favourite travel programme back in the day (AD 360). We would all sit together with my mater Claudia and my sorores Julia Maior, Julia Media, and Julia Tertia, watching it while eating figs, olives, and sea urchins. Ah, good times...

Salvē, I’m am writing a book and a graphic novel in Latin based on a civilization that emulates an industrial Roman Empire. It is called Caesarimperium, maybe you will hear about it in the next years. Thanks for teaching us Latin and being my inspiration.

Amazing how your accent has become so similar to Italian when you speak Latin - no doubt how you sound is far closer than the textbook pronunciations. You really are a living Roman. Gratias tibi libenter ago

Alright! A new tour in Latin. Recently I was watching the one where Luke walks near fluviī and a riverus? The Delaware River I believe. Its exciting to read the captions and be able to understand most of it. Gratias Luke.

One of the subtitle options is "Italian auto-generated". Is this because Youtube thinks he's speaking Italian?

Puto ut prima statua refecta, haec Constanini, fuit ultimam statuam positam esse in foro romano.
Nunc refeciendum totum forum romanum debemus.

@0:18 As this new statue is not made up of pieces/fragments of the original statue, it is a "copy" or "recreation" (as, indeed, the Latin subtitles correctly note), not a "restoration". Please amend the English subtitles.

Can you explain the use of "Basileus" at the start of the video? What's the Greek word for king doing here?
