Yes, 100% you got ripped off by acquiring a "free computer".

As is, locally on a Craigslist, 60 bucks would be a fair price. Maybe price it at 80 and allow wiggle /haggle room to get 60.

The GPU specs are a HD3450, latest driver is 13.9 (Win7), 13.4 beta (Win8). For Win10 let Windows do it, or check optional update / Windows update catalog
NB. Only supports DX10.1, which limits compatibility
May be better going backwards as an XP Retro

I was surprised how useable these old pcs are still, as long as you dont browse the web, but on linux even some browsing is possible

You may or may not know this yet but the i5 760 doesn't have onboard graphics support. The first PC I built had that exact cpu in it.
I'd say with the hard drive this computer is worth about $30.

I'd put Linux on it (Mint, Ubuntu or Debian) and the machine will be fine to use for regular desktop stuff.

First gen i5, ddr2 ram and a $5 gpu. I'm just going to be honest here, $20 computer. I just bought a barebone HP 800 G4 8th gen for $27. HP 600 G3 bare for $16.

I mean, if you can sell it for $40-50, great. The 800 G4 with a G4560 and 8gb of DDR4 ram, I have $55 in it. The 600 G3 with a G4400 and 8gb of DDR4 I have maybe $50 in it.

Mind you, I already had hard drives here.🙂

I would not want to run win 10 on only 4 gigs of ram I would put a lighter Linux distribution on that

Fist gen is really weak....2nd gen and up still have a bit of juice in them but those first gen i7 processors are as good only as a modern Pentium dual core processor so i guess this i5 will probably only compete with a new Celeron or something like that

I would give this away for free if they come to get it. Saves the scrapyard cost, because that's the address of it. What would be the use case for it anyway? In laptop form it might be worth couple bucks as a kids toy.

Yes you can still upgrade from 7 to 10. I do it all the time.

I say put a gt 710 in it. Then run dvi to vga or hdmi whatever adapter you have 😃

Nice video. Maybe $30-$60 as is. Maxing out ram and adding the fastest ram it can use might be good along with a ssd - would really change the performance.

It could still be used to play retro games or would also make a good emulation system.

This is a very interesting PC. It's got the BTX motherboard, and also the case design of the later X90~X020 generations.

If a computer has an activated version of Windows 7, you can wipe it and install Windows 10, connect it to the internet, Windows 10 should activate without any problem. I do this all the time with government surplus systems. Windows 7 keys will activate Windows 10, too.

I go back 2 or 3 pages to find things nobody else is bidding on
