Ah it sucks that the book didn’t vibe with you all that much but at least you’re going to check out more of Nesbo’s work. I haven’t read anything by him but I am interested in the first book you mentioned, Chestnut Man.

I know it's been a year now, but I'll say "Snowman" is one of his most famous books, and it's really really good! It's part of the Harry Hole series, but you don't have to read the books before it to understand the story.

Make sure 1 of Nesbø books you read is The Snowman

I've read The Olav Johansen novels and the first Three Harry Hole novels. I was recommended his books after having read The Millennium Trilogy (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) and loved it as well as some books by Dennis Lehane. They were alright, but I lost interest after a while despite having heard that they get better once you get to The Snowman. Which gives me red alerts whenever I hear it takes halfway through a series for it to get praise.
