I don't know if anyone has talked about it yet, but in the real life journal 3 if you decode a specific text Bill says that if Mabel didn't stop him from completing his plan to get the 3rd journal he would have jumped off of the water tower and make it look like Dipper killed himself. Then he said he would ask Mabel if she wanted to join her brother. So yeah when it's in book form Gravity Falls can be just as dark if not darker than songs like these.
