All I can think of is the movie SWAT… you don’t do your job you get the consequences. Keep up the great work.

What’s a good way to get back into this line of work. Former military and always enjoyed it. I assume mainly law enforcement?

Unless the instructors deemed that door a wall.

Depends on the situation, could be a hostage taking scenario where the lead person had eyes on the perp and the hostage.

The only way I could see this working is if they have a third man (or more) that stays back to hold that door. I think crossing uncleared thresholds is always a bad idea, but in this case, it would give them full coverage of the corridor plus a stack on each door. Then the first 2 guys can cover the hallway and last door while the others clear the first door.

But if its just these 2 guys. Then nah they fucked

This is assuming an active shooting is happening so heading to the threat is the priority and bypassing a room will probably be excused

Depends what the scenario is. They could have been instructed to ignore that door. It may have been an active shooter scenario where they were responding to the location of where they heard the shots to stop the threat before more casualties can happen.

Or it could be like you said and they were searching for threats and didn't have any other active factors involved and should have taken the time to search and clear that room. But without knowing what scenario they were running, can't really say if it was negligence or not.

There are 2 kinds of clearing imminent threat and barricaded persons (with or without hostages and status unknown) If someone is an active shooter, there is an imminent threat of death or grievous bodily harm. You go to that threat until the status changes. They arent going to clear every room when the gun shots are ringing out and not from that room. Instructor Mike respectfully, you are mistaken in this case. That is likely what this scenario is.
