Outboard carburetor and fuel issue

Here I work out the issues with this two stroke outboard. Hope this helps sone people understand more about diagnosing and sorting two stroke outboards.

I love this motor! Basic, light and powerful! Also on the tiller arm there should be a throttle tensioner.

Great video, I have the Tohatsu 30 Hp 2002, same motor you worked on. Mine is difficult to start initially, once it has run not issue. Can you advise how I should set up the trottle and choke when cold starting

Hey legend I got this exact same motor. Last trip out ran well as normal all day. Towards end of the day heading back to boat ramp she cut out. Started up fine soon as I put into gear it just killed the motor did this 3 times. Then decided to use the electric motor to get the last 200m back to ramp. When flushed the motor 15mins later it started fine tried putting into gear and was okay.. thoughts? + enjoying the channel mate really handy tips

could you help me identify the problem?
1969 mercury merc 110 9.8hp.

i believe one of the cylinder is flooding,
1. is this possible? and how?
2. is it electrical issue or fuel issue?

weekend boater.
when starting again after a week, it starts out strong within 3 pulls.
sounds very nice and idles just fine when on land to test with bucket of water.
now in marina to test it, it runs fine for about 20 minutes from top speed of around 12mph, i couldnt get it to go faster yet due to conditions but it wants to.
then it starts to bog down and stay at 6mph.
at this time, when i put it down to shift range, it completely dies and it does not want to idle at all.
then when i start to restart it, it idles at start but wants to die in shift range.
when i force it to shift into forward, it dies.

Hey bloke love your vids i have the same 25 seapro 2007 model the carb restrictor plate has been removed from the carb wondering what else too do too make it spot on too 30hp.
Takes one pull on choke too kick then aprox 6-10 on a bad day too get the start.
Is this the norm with this motor given the restrictor is removed.. or does it need the 25° timing and different jets. (Once started runs like a dream one handed sitting starts all day) just lookingbtoo get the best from it. Cheers mate.

nice video my yamaha 30hp seems to have this problem ill have to find out later tho, i have a question about your tohatsu/mercury 5hp motors ive noticed when running my motor ticks rythmically to the piston could this be anything or is it normal, it runs fine and strong but it just sounds off

Hi, i have a 25hp tohatsu same as this, and it seems to foul the plugs with oil every time i take it out, it seems i have the correct mixture. Im switching to a fully synthetic oil but the oil is pricy, how could i fix this issue?

Hi bud, do you tinker with 4 stokes much if at all? Would be to good see your thoughts on performance gains out of a small outboard! (Say a eg 20hp Honda) Cheers!

Too lean at idle
Definitely all points to fat fat everywhere else.
Idle lost the idle note on last lean up and everything else sounds super fat so atleast super safe
