ok don't worry let me explain,
F(x ) = x^2 +ax +1
F'(x) = 2x + a
Since function is strictly increasing, given
F'(x) > 0
2x +a > 0
Solving for a;
2x +a > 0 implies
a > -2x
Now

# a > -2x
Now 1<x<2, given
=> 2< 2x <4
=> -2> -2x >-4
This mean -2x ∈ (-4, -2)
-2x lies between (-4, -2)

But now the secret is here :-
Since a > -2x, (not equal to)
=> a > (-4, -2)
Read as, a is greater then all values between -4 and -2
So what,

a is greater than or equal to -2
a ≥ -2
Therefore least value for a is -2 not -4

If you further need explanation or explanations for any other questions being your doubt, you may reply

1 ≤ x ≤ 2
2 ≤ 2x ≤ 4
2+a ≤ 2x+a ≤ 4+a
2+a ≤ f'(x) ≤ 4+a
Since, f'(x) is Increasing.
=> f'(x) >0
=> 2+a > 0
=> a > -2
