Thinking about moving to Las Vegas? This video may make you rethink your decision....

Personally I love living in Las Vegas, but if you want to boom in the hospitality industry, it's best you start getting to know people. Las Vegas can be an awesome place to live, or it could be the worse. There's obvious things such as the weather, the desert, the amount of tourists, that may sway your decision to move here. You might get some people saying they hate Vegas, others like myself love living in Las Vegas. So in this video I plan on telling you the good and the bad, the pros and the cons to moving into Sin City. I just hope you love the strip, if not, you probably shouldn't move here. Enjoy!

Biggest pro, no state income tax, I moved here from Chicago and the change was significant.

Biggest pro from someone who was born and raised in Houston. Your infrastructure is top notch. You can really see where the money goes with respect to the highways being paved and light.!!! Just on this reason alone i didn't want to leave.

Moved down here for work 2 years ago from Minnesota, never intended to stay but i fell in love with the food, scenary, and just the never ending stuff to do! You can literally find a new place to eat everyday of the week! Don't get me started on the food trucks! Then you add in the hiking, off-roading, parks and the fact you're within 3 hours of Long beach, CA, a good chunk of Utahs parks, Arizona, and ALLL The BLM land! it is a great area! And also, as a Mid-Westeners you think Mosquitos here are bad? lol Try camping in Summer in Minnesota, you'll come back here with a whole new perspective, assuming the Mosquitos let you leave, or you can walk out of your tent without being mugged by spiders and other insects.

One of the cons of Las Vegas is that wages have been stagnant for about 20 years while the cost of living has gone way up

THANK YOU for talking about the DUI rate and pedestrian mortality. I’ve lived in West Charleston for about 5 months (residential are, not super close to the strip) and at least 5 people have died on from fatal crashes within a mile vicinity of me. One guy died crashing into the bus stop that I normally use, maybe 30 min before I arrived to wait for the bus. That shit scares me as someone who walks and uses buses 90% of the time. You can hear people on the highways any hour of the day going well over 100mph just cause they feeling themselves in their rented sports car smh. It’s not worth it, there’s plenty of Uber’s available at every minute of every day and plenty of public transportation! Don’t be stupid people.

I’m from Cali and nothing beats Cali but Vegas has grown on me. My pro would be that everyone is always down to visit and you can always visit LA for the 3 months of insanely hot summers. The rest of the year is perfect weather! Also can’t forget but Vegas has some of the best sunsets 🌅 Only con for me is maybe the heat in the summers but if you have a pool/knows someone who does or if you visit one of the hotels pools then your all good.

I moved here 3 years ago from the east coast & was not expecting to like it as much as I do! The things I love & wasn’t expecting was: first off the mountains!! Everywhere you drive you’re surrounded and it’s beautiful I honestly thought it would be all flat LOL! I also think it’s amazing how many parks there are! I love being outdoors and I feel like I always have somewhere to go! Also the hiking! You can go to red rocks or mount Charleston.. also we are pretty central to Cali, Utah, Arizona.. so all of those are great weekend getaways if you need to get outside of Vegas! I’m from NY and I don’t think the winters here are colder, I love that I can be outside right now in February walking at a park and it’s literally 65 degrees and sunny! The summers are brutal though! But at least I’m not stuck inside due to snow and having to shovel 😅 Great video!! Love your channel 💕

I'm from Vegas and have to say this is the most spot on, accurate video! You should do a video about the underground tunnels. I've been here 20 years and literally just heard of them a few months ago. Blew my mind! I started a little family. And just as you've said... We are looking to relocate states due to being ranked 2nd lowest in education in the nation, plus the atmosphere. Too bad.... Because I never want to leave!!! Everything is so close! It's a small town and big town at the same time!! I'll miss that! Convenience! Suburb to city in 15-30 minutes, 24/7.

It's called the 9th island, because of the large Hawaii population that has moved to Vegas. Such a great video!

Great video... i'm planning to move there some time this year for nursing school. It's hard to get in and very expensive here in California plus it's getting crazier and crazier here.!!! I can barely stand it anymore.

Another con is the VERY hard water. If you have sensitive skin, you'll want to get a water softener for your home and apply moisturizer to your skin frequently. And for bugs, there are tarantulas. I found one in my garage.

Another pro is that you are only a half-day's drive to Grand Canyon South Rim, Grand Canyon North Rim, Zion National Park or Bryce National Park. If you like to stargaze, there are many dark sky locations a couple hours away.

Miss Norma, thank you for being so honest about your town! I'm going to add a pro for living in Vegas: Miss Norma is there and knowing such a wonderful person came out of the environment is truly the #1 pro about the city!

Great vid. Biggest challenge now is fighting the seemingly ovverwhelming perception of LV being the "big fleece." AKA Rip-off. You'll hear it often said that Vegas was so much better for the tourist when the Mob ran things decades prior. Resort fees, fees for parking, stingy w/ the booze now, nickel & diming the tourists to death. This, I believe is hurting Vegas and will continue to do so in the future, unless things or perceptions change.

Really great video, you nailed just about everything. However, the reason they call it the 9th Island is because a lot of Hawaiians have relocated to Las Vegas and have called it home. In fact, Las Vegas has the highest amount of people from Hawai'i living there than anywhere else in the U.S. And since Hawai'i is made up of 8 main Islands, Las Vegas got the nick name, the 9th Island.
