One of my favorite aircraft to travel in; back in the day regional carriers flew many of them in the congested USA East Coast airspace. Then many major airports had an older, shorter general aviation runway; the Dash-7 could "jump the queue" using that runway to avoid air traffic control delays at peak hours.

Had the pleasure flying on many Dash-7's with Air Niugini in PNG years ago and then on the Dash 8's as they phased them in. Again the STOL capability was perfect for many of the remote grass strips in PNG, especially in the mountainous highlands region where the plane or chopper are the only way in. Always interesting cargo too, pigs, chickens, drums of fuel, vegetables. Great scenic country to fly in especially in the highlands were a lot of flight is just above the jungle canopy or through mountain ranges. Great workhorse plane, just a little before modern sound proofing, ear plugs come in handy!

the red Dash-7´s from 14:57 looks like ex Airgreenland birds, red colour and the white dots on the tail was the livery of Airgreenlands Dash-7´s, flown these quite a bit since childhood as a passenger, a few flights in some pretty memorable weather during winter from Nuuk (GOH) to Kangerlussuaq (SJF), flights here now operated by DASH-8-200´s.

I flew the Dash 7 for a few hundred hours as First Officer up in Alaska during late 1980s. It was great watching these guys work! It’s a cool plane, for sure.
