I wish the otaku stereotype was mostly represented by people like Bob. If I met him and never knew that he was an anime fan, I'd be damn surprised if I found out he was to be honest.

I have a friend who's also an Otaku, when we were in high school we had another friend who thought anime is for kids.
My Otaku friend is childish and doesn't know how to talk, he also doesn't care about his look, so when he asked our friend if he watches anime, that guy made fun of him and said horrible things about anime and Otakus.
Next day he found out that I'm an Otaku too, and surprisingly he totally changed his attitude.
After only two days, he borrowed some DVDs from me, he finished Fullmetal Alchemist in one week and started asking for more :P
Today he's an Otaku who has Kill la Kill and Jojo in his top 10 list.
People usually judge your hobbies and interests based on their impression on you, not the opposite.

I usually don't tell people that I watch anime because of the stereotypes. People always say it's for kids and the first thing that comes to my head is Elfen Lied. I'm glad you spoke the truth in this video. I hope someday my friends can know I watch anime and not think it's weird. I do have one friend who likes anime though, so it's not too bad.

Agreed only we can end these stereotypes and improve what people think about us and its definitely something that can't be changed overnight but if we want people to take us seriously then we have to take ourselves seriously. Nice video once again Bob.

I also think that a lot of anime reviewers on YouTube don't exactly help with the stereotypes. You've got all these videos of people "exposing" other reviewers - even though most of the time it's not exposing, just one person talking shit about someone else. It's just pathetic. I mean if non-anime fans saw these it would just make them think that all anime fans are that childish and petty. I'm glad that you're above that kind of thing Bob, and great video btw.
