Human Feet Keep Washing Up on This Beach

The Salish Sea is a mysterious sea that can be found in and around the US state of Washington and the Canadian Provence of British Colombia. There are many strange and scary stories connected to the Salish Sea. But by far the greatest mystery of all is ongoing. Since 2007 human feet have been periodically appearing on the beach, as if being left there or washing up on the shore. But why?

From Wilipedia: "In Canada, the B.C. Coroners Service said in December 2017 that foul play had been ruled out by authorities in all investigations and that the feet came from people who died either in accidents or by suicide, and the feet detached during the normal decomposition process. The feet were usually found in sneakers, which the coroner thought were responsible for both keeping the feet buoyant enough to eventually wash ashore, and for giving the feet enough protection from decomposition to be found relatively intact."

Look, I'll level with you. It's my fault. I suffer from a condition called "hydrafoot." I keep growing the damn things and have to hack them off daily. I don't just toss them in the trash because pickup is only once a week. You have no idea how bad Saturday's feet smell by Thursday. I tried feeding them to neighborhood dogs but the neighbors weren't down with it and threatened to press charges. So every day I hike on over to the pier, chop the offending extra feet off, chuck them in the water and wish the sharks bon apetite. There is a treatment for the condition but it would involve removing one of my testicles, so onward with the daily stroll to the water.

If you watch Dave Paulides missing 411, one the most common things finding missing people, their bodies are almost always missing feet. That's the first thing I thought of. Then you said "hiker boots"...and then I knew they must be related to the amount missing people in Oregon and Washington.
