A Load a Day?

A load a day keeps the laundry monster away!  We have been doing a load a day for the past 8 years and it makes all the difference.  Do you follow this rule in your household or do you have a laundry day once a week?  Also, another hack for less stress with laundry is having detergent set on subscription.  Anyone else like having a laundry detergent subscription? :)

We have a family of 8 and way back when the kids were very little we downsized their wardrobes so that they really only had a week’s worth of clothes. That let me be able to do laundry on one day a week for the kids’ clothes. We have generally kept that routine going for well over a decade. Now we still have a few other days that my husband and my laundry gets done or towels get thrown in, but laundry never really piles up because the clothes run out! It works great!

Am I the only one who feels like Dawn saved their lives? Seriously. Her methods for decluttering and organizing have been complete game changers. Thank you Dawn!

I have a laundry schedule, it is so helpful, i try to do as little housework as possible on Saturday….that’s usually landscaping day. I load the laundry the night/day before, when my dog needs to go out at 5:30, i start the load….then while i drink coffee my task has started.

Family of 8 here we do a few loads every…day & I feel like I’m still not caught up😂. It’s bc I do laundry then someone brings blankets/sheets up lol or someone gets sick or we go camping a lot in summer & fall and then we have all that laundry. Love your channel Dawn, you bless my heart ❤. I also love that you love Jesus too🙌🏼🙏🏻. The Lord is using you to be a blessing to so many mamas!!!

I can’t believe it’s taken me 40 years to finally figure this out! So many benefits. No piles of dirty OR clean laundry. We always have what we need or want to wear. No more spending the entire weekend catching up on loads of laundry. ❤

YES!!! I do a load or whatever I have every day, I agree!!! I sometimes take the weekend off (but we are empty nester, too, aka not as much as others)
Also, I do the WHOLE process... wash, dry, fold, AND put away each load so the clean clothes aren't stacking up in a pile, too 😊

So true. A load a day works like a dream. As does delay start so I set up washer at night and in the morning I put into dryer.

We just recently purchased a new washer and dryer. It had Bluetooth and an app and I thought I would never use it, but it has been very convenient!

My kids don’t like it because I can text them to let them know when to put the clothes in the washer or fold. Even if I am not at home. Love it!

It also helps my ADD brain to remember that I have a load going.

A load a day has changed my laundry drastically ❤!

Ironically, laundry is a chore I enjoy doing. Through the years, I have developed a good system. Unfortunately, my laundry closet is off of our center room. We have a hanging dryer rack that folds up and out of the way when not in use. I only wash, dry, fold, and hang what I'm willing to do COMPLETELY. Some days, it's only 1 load, and other days, it's 5 loads. 😊

If I do laundry one day a week, it feels like a huge chore, I can throw just one load in and finish in no time especially if it’s towels.

Laundry never stops over here. Can't imagine not doing it every day. Family of 7, and we cloth diaper our youngest two. We upgraded to a huge washer a couple years back and it still takes 2-3 loads a day to stay on top of things 😅

Absolutely. Family of 5. At least one lead of clothes a day. Plus a load of towels or bedding.
With a 3 and 5yo, close to growing out of kids plates, they're very low on dishes. Sometimes I run the dish washer 3 times a day. No regrets. Because this is "our season of life".
I've recently become a single mum. I'm so so glad I found you and Cass and Dana a couple of years ago. I've got so much more control over my life now. Things are peaceful.

We're only been able to get down to 2 loads a day. But it's definitely better than a full day of constant work.

My mom and I both do at least a load a day. I have animals so sometimes I have to do two but that definitely works. I've become a minimalist in the last 2 years. My mother has always been clean and organized ever since I can remember. Your tips and tricks still help us out! ❤

I also love this. I try to do one load a day and it is awesome.

We are three people (2 adults and a baby) and I’m far from being able to have a load a day. We simply do not have that much dirty laundry.
I do laundry on Monday and Friday and I agree it’s good to have it scheduled (in particular not on the weekends) as it then doesn’t pile up too much.

We are a family of 2 now and 2 or 3 loads about 2 times a week works for me. 1 load of darks, 1 load of lights one day. 1 load of towels, 1 load of sheets another day. Also jean’s and towels another day. I love Nellies for laundry.

Thank you for saying that about laundry being in the basement. It’s such a barrier for my brain!
