I'm not even Greek, rather a philhellene, and I feel the strongest anger and indignation against what the damned Ottomans did to the Greek people and also to surrounding nations. God bless those who martyred themselves to preserve Hellenic language and culture.

I'm from Russia and I must be the biggest fan of the Greek language in my town :) I'm glad the language survived. It must have the longest written history in Europe. You can't imagine Europe without it.

Are you kidding? The Greek language suffered during ottoman empire? The only language which was prohibited in ottoman empire was Albanian.
And arvanitika language is a dialect of Albanian language.
