The Team Behind the 5 Series MSO

Indeed the new Tektronix 5-Series MSO is probably the best oscilloscope that Tek produced in the last years. I personally played with this product and I can confirm that it's usability and ease of use are really, really great. Congratulations for the wonderful team that made this project to become reality! Thank you Tektronix for being, again, the pioneer in bringing real innovations to T&M market.

The passion of the team is SO apparent!

Nice to see the video and I like the product and GUI, but 90% of the "new concepts" are copied from Keysight or Rohde and Schwarz. They are new to Tek, but not new to the market. The multiplex-ed vertical knobs looks like what R&S introduced in year 2010 with the original RTO oscilloscopes. Tek even copied the same color light pipes that R&S implemented. The large 15" display with reduction of knobs/buttons copies what Agilent introduced in 2007 with the 9000 Series. Tek followed a simliar design. Multiple grids has been around for > 7 years on LeCroy, Keysight/Agilent, and Rohde and Schwarz scopes. Tek was the only company that didn't offer. Both Keysight and R&S have been way ahead of Tek for touchability with Tek being the last to introduce capacitive touchscreens. On Tek 5 Seires, I found that there were several touch areas where I still had to use a mouse (too small of touch area for a finger). The Linux and Win10 compatibility and FlexChannels are really the two new items I see with the scope and both are industry firsts.

How such fast ADCs actually work? Looking at the image, I guess there are hundreds of slow adcs inside the chip and are multiplexed, correct?

They could have at least mentioned they took inspiration from Rodhe & Schwarz for the channel colouring

3 serie is only a face lift +touch screen. No other improvments comparing with MDO3

Who can afford such a "box"? Really, Tektronix cannot be targeting small businesses with such a product at a starting price of $22K+.
