It gets it unclogged but it doesn’t really clean the bottom side. We used my sons steel weights. Also we used a winch, too many times I’ve seen guys take out their trucks back windows or tailgate dents with a whiplash chain. Use a 3/4” thread rod nut and washer on bottom, tie another cable on that, in cause u have to pull it back, start with a 5 lb weight work up to 10, 15, 25 lb, attach ur winch to a thread cable hook your thread on the 3/4” thread rod. I wish we took video, it worked great! 1000 lbs of mud and roots came through. Good luck. Don’t get killed.

Seems to work well - never thought of a tire but it makes sense, the tire will conform to the culvert shape and as long as it does not tear/rip it would work. Two suggestions; never pull with a tow ball, use a tow hook or D-shackle. Trailer tow balls do not have shear strength. Once culvert is clear, or when you install a new one, put riprap at the inlet & outlet. The rocks, if well placed back from the inlet will filter the water and let only water through, holding back the silt & mud, not perfect but I've used it for 20+ years and have four culverts and they have never clogged - use plenty of riprap, more than you think.

I suggest not Hooking the Chain to the Hitch Ball, Maybe you haven't heard but That has a SHEER Tolerance that is Pretty Low and People die from it Snapping and flying thru the air and striking someone. Try the Frame rail, Much Safer

Those tire make a very good pig. I used to flush fuel oil piping on new construction navy ships that was a lot of fun and you got very wet doing it. Try a shorter chain pull chain on your truck you might more toruq. but you are doing the job so use what ever does the best job for you. I'm going to suggest this to the public works people in the city I live in or high pressure water. Thanks for a very good video. (Mississippi Gulf Coast, USA).

Does this work if the culvert pipe is that corrugated stuff? Isn’t that made from a thick black plastic? If so, it seems like it would rip up the inside of the pipe — possibly requiring replacement….

unscrew that wand, hook up a jet acorn looking brass tip that shoots water str8 out and to the back. That will clean it out easier and not have issues. Idk how they do big pipes but for drains in homes, sewer etc this works perfect.

A small grappling hook should snag that tire. Tire is a good idea unless you can rent or afford water jet. Wonder if you rigged a brush..like a chimney sweep behind the tire. Just a little bit more cleaning. This is something that you go back to the shop and rig up the tire, bore brush and mount to hold it and hook to the yank strap.... then draw it up and get it on the market... patent pending.. The more it's done the easier it will pull through... routine maintenance. Far less expensive than a flow pressure jet setup and a lot less noise. But as a side note... shows what when one uses a similar system to clean the barrel of a firearm. It snaps a breaks and it's all over...
