WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle speaks to Chris Van Vliet about the "You Suck" chants that went along with his theme song. It was popularized during a storyline with Edge, but became synonymous with Kurt's entrance. Kurt Angle is an Olympic Gold Medalist from the 1996 Olympics. He began his WWE career in 1999 and was inducted into their Hall of Fame in 2017. UFC fighter Colby Covington now uses Angle’s theme as his entrance theme.

That part when Kurt Angle kept stopping his entrance about the "You suck" chants was one of the greatest promos he's ever done

Wrestlers having such active crowd interaction is what makes it my favorite form of entertainment.

Angles nerdy good guy act was an amazing counter to all the bad boys in the WWE. What a great character he played

He was right up there with Piper, HBK AND Triple H in his ability to consistently put on great matches and make everyone around him look better. Great, great wrestler.

Kurt Angle had one the best skill sets I've ever seen, it was near flawless. Top tier technical skill but he could brawl when needed. A squared circle General ⭐

You could totally see Kurt LOVED the chants when they filmed, he would live for them

I loved it when he freaked out over it. He was so talented on the mic. His legendary wrestling skills often overshadows his talent as an ‘entertainer’.

This is one of the MANY reason why Kurt Angle is a top 5 all time for me. He could do it all! Wrestle, mic work, comedy, seriousness; just a legend!

That chant was one of the best, most natural things ever. It also didn't hurt that he was one of the best ever, so the chant was the fans sort of joking around when in reality they loved & respected him.

Kurt always seems like he's a genuine good person outside of the ring and always seems like he has fun and enjoys interviews and meeting fans, and that's really cool

cheer, boo, or chant at you, it's when they sit in silence you're in trouble.

I'll never forget seeing Kurt return to WWE and be cheered like a face while everyone says he sucks. It's an insult on the face, but I'm glad i got to see this chant grow into pure endearment for a legend of the sport.

I think it’s even cooler that Colby uses the song as his walkout and embraces his persona.
