CompTia Cloud+ Is Vendor Neutral But Its Not MultiCloud

I said there were no multi-cloud certifications, and I'm here to argue I don't think CompTIA Cloud+ teaches you multi-cloud. I think these certification serve a purpose but I don't think most people journeying into cloud should bother with Cloud+

I've been reviewing some Cloud+ Certifications recently (I didn't know about CompTIA much before) and I had the same reaction... I think your comment here sums up my thoughts:

5:35 - "A lot of textbook information that is not useful to retain"

I'll be doing a video soon on some of the CompTIA certs, I'd love to be able to use a couple snippets of your comments here, Andrew.

As always, thanks for all the community work !

That's a great distinction that Cloud neutrality doesn't mean multi-cloud.

I concur. This reminds me of how the CompTIA Network+ and Security+ claimed to be "vendor neutral", yet when I took and passed the exams in 2014, they were very very Windows-heavy on networking and security, and covered little if any Linux or Mac (*nix) internals... which I suppose is great if you are going to be a Windows sys admin, but leaves serious gaps in your knowledge if you end up working with even 1 Linux server in your organization, much less working for a company that runs mostly Linux.

CompTIA Cloud+ is a vendor neutral cloud certification. It doesn't require that you memorize what each CSP calls their product offering. It doesn't require that you demonstrate you have seat time on each CSPs platform. Cloud+ covers cloud concepts with vendor detail. The shared responsibility model is very close to the same for AWS and Azure. Google Compute put forth a different model. And to sum it up Cloud+ is DOD approved for multiple workforce categories. If you work for the government or a government contractor that's potentially satisfying a job requirement. Other employers deploying in multiple CSPs look for this certification. The presenter seems stuck on the cost.

What you need to understand is that Cloud+ is ISO compliant; the others are not

For someone that is considering a cert in Cloud. Which one do you believe is best first to take and or best all around? I am currently doing my CCNA. I have considered learn vmware and kubernetes. I saw on you channel is the KCNA, is that one you would recommend in this case?
