I lost my beloved daughter just three weeks ago to cancer. At around 3:00 PM Eastern, I stood at her grave when the sun was totally blotted out by the moon. This eclipse was an event she and I had looked forward to since we made plans back in 2017 to view it. She almost made it, but only I got to witness it. To say that it has been a deeply emotional couple of hours for me is an understatement. I never, ever want to forget that moment for as long as I live. For you, beloved. 🌑☀✌

I am in northeast Ohio. I was in awe. And I'm a granny who doesn't get awestruck much anymore. Haha.
Nature is simply amazing. ☀ 🌖

Thank you for not saying the eclipse being a once in a lifetime. This is my second one.

I live in northcentral Ohio, directly in the path of the solar eclipse. Decided to avoid the crowd and found a bench in the middle of a marsh. All the birds and wildlife grew to a hush (except for a distant robin who just couldn't shut up!)
It felt like a religious experience sitting in quiet contemplation. God's handiwork is so awesome! ❤

8 minutes for sunlight to travel to minutes & ? seconds for our moon to block it?
The various complexities that were involved & millions got to share & no reports of deadly action among the true miracle ❤.

I drove 6 hours to Houlton, Maine. Watching that Eclipse was one of the most amazing thing I have ever witnessed.

The NARCISSIST of the States get to choose on Abortion RIGHTS?! Shouldn't WE THE PEOPLE of the States get to decide?!!

We were not in totality here (central Illinois) but still in that precious 96%. We'd already picked a small local park and still had a wonderful view. And mother nature gave us an added bonus of spotting a bald eagle cruising just on the edge of the park a few minutes before the eclipse started. That was magic.

I'm finishing my senior year at college in a small town, I graduate in a matter of weeks. When the eclipse happened, I was around people I had never seen before nor will ever see again. However, everyone, myself included, was emotional because (even if your area wasn't in the path of full totality like my area in Tennessee) it was one of the few times in today's political and social climate in which everyone felt together as not only a part of the human race, but also has a part of the universe. It literally felt like our lives stood still for just a few minutes to witness something that usually is once in a generation. In this case, it's been twice in a generation as I saw both 2017 and 2024. It was all kinds of people who were outside all over my college campus looking up to the skies. Young & old, professors & students, office staff & maintenance workers, in-state/out-state & international students, Democrats & Republicans, Liberals & Conservatives. From 1:55pm local time to 2:10pm local time, all of our problems we may or may not have been dealing with for sometime was secondary. Literally nothing else mattered except that moment we were in. For better or for worse, Earth & the Universe is a mysterious yet wonderful & beautiful place we live in.

Lots of incidents and accidents have happened lately in the airlines industry. Maybe it’s time to look at the hiring process to ensure that only qualified people are hired and not based on any other criteria.

Eclipses like this one are special time to offer prayers to God for such phenomena. It's a time to remember Him and His power and how He's able to do anything.
