The Future of Work 025: Leadership by algorithm - interview with David De Cremer
Показать описание
This week, we get to spend some time with the wonderful David De Cremer, author of the new book "Leadership by Algorithm". You can find out more about David and his work here:
We had a fantastic conversation and explored the boundary between human ability and computer capability. We took in some old friends talking about trust, ethics and of course the skills we're all going to need if we want to work in harmony with the potential that technology brings us.
It's not all sunshine and roses though, there are some tough challenges ahead and throughout the conversation David does a great job of identifying the challenges and offering advice on how we might best overcome them.
In terms of questions and topics we discussed:
(01:40) David talks through the broad premise of the book.
(04:40) Why "managing more means achieveing less..." and why leadership must be "enlightened".
(10:06) What we can learn from athletes and employee data and why ethics matter more than ever.
(17:45) We explore the key human skills for a successful future working with algorithms.
(24:53) David walks us through the key steps any organisation can take to get the best of both humans and algorithms.
This is actually a shortened edit of the full conversation David and I shared, if you've enjoyed this and want to hear more of the details and background as to why a future of leadership by algorithm might be something to look forward to rather than fear. You can find the full interview here:
