I really enjoy the little nod to actual ducks having serrated beaks during the animations of Clauneck and Kudaai.

The way I see it, there are 2 types of cards. The static ones are what we find in-game, being less guarded, and depicting more common occurrences and power-ups. There are also shifting cards, which actually tell major events and shift based on who draws them. Alternatively, they are all shifting, and clauneck drawing them turns them into boosts for whoever he is drawing for, while letting someone else draw them will tell them what is to come in their future. Either way, perhaps only the shifting ones will go dark in the sun's last setting.

honestly the bird siblings (clauneck, kudaii and cheamach) represent mind, body and soul to me. clauneck the soul telling of your future, kudaii the mind giving you the smarts yo use weapons, and chemach is the body litrally giving you body parts as relics

Im pretty sure Clauneck and his siblings are owls, as stated in the cotl official comic

And it's this piece of lore right here that adds to my theory that it was Claunek who mentioned how a Lamb will free the One Who Waits. Like you also said, this future was set in stone proving what the Bishops did only just played into the future that can't be altered now. Also, the animation that showed him showing specific cards to the Lamb showing what their future holds.
