Inside UK care homes hit by coronavirus

The virus pandemic has thrown Britain’s social care into the spotlight with demands for better protection for those in the sector.

Many are feeling vulnerable without the training or support to cope with a global pandemic.

One care worker says many in her profession will suffer from PTSD after dealing with multiple coronavirus deaths amongst the elderly residents they care for.

If private care homes payed a decent wage they might get some staff, most care homes don’t want to train staff etc all they care for is profit.

Brave girls, that's how care should be... wouldn't it be amazing to reward these fantastic staff with a wage that reflects the daily care and courage required to do the job properly. Long hours and low pay, but care comes from the heart xxx

87% of care homes are private businesses some charging £1100.
ppe is not the governments responsibility

A lot (not all) of care home owners will only be worried about how much money they're going to be losing. Most of them are only in it for the profits they can make.

A lot of these care homes are private and it is therefore the care homes that have failed to protect the old people....owned by millionaire money grabbing thieves these homes could afford to have purchased their own PPE...in fact they should always have a stock of it otherwise what happens when someone dies or has the flu...it was incumbent upon them to do this after all they only pay their staff £8 an hour for what is really hard, dirty and sometimes depressing work whereas they are charging £800 quid a week  for each OAP and more in some cases....Greedy should be arrested for running these death
