This is an episode in the LeanStacks Unscripted DevOps (Development Operations) series.

This episode is a beginner's guide to creating an Amazon Web Services (AWS) Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) Amazon Machine Image (AMI). In AWS, an AMI is a server template; it is a snapshot of an EC2 Instance which may be used to launch new EC2 Instances.

Instruction is provided with the assumption that the viewer has little or no experience with AWS or the EC2 service.

Can I terminate the instance after creating an AMI and reproduce the EC2 instance from the AMI? What data will I lose in doing so?
What is the pricing for storing the AMI?
