Recorded at the Moses Znaimer Conference - IdeaCity 2013

Geordie Rose, Founder of D-Wave tells us about quantum computing and how he thinks we will be able to exploit parallel universes to solve problems that we can't do otherwise. Plus he has three predictions.

Rose makes three predictions (dating from 2013) of which the first one was just recently realized:

Unlike Geordie Rose, I don't look forward to prediction #3

We have become much more knowledgeable with time. But there is no wisdom left.

1. an assumption that each dimension is just like every other dimension 2. an assumption that there are unlimited dimensions 3. a desire to steal from other dimensions (which might damage something or someone over There) 4. an assumption that these actions will not damage something or someone over Here. 5. conclusion: This man has unmitigated arrogance and absolutely no forethought.

I am absolutely terrified of this thing. The devil is kinda scary from the imaginary point of view, but this thing is REAL and it's a lot scarier than any mythical demon in human existence. He said within 15 years it will be like us and it will be better in every aspect of humanity. 15 years will go by in a blink of an

He just explained exactly what is causing the Mandela Effect.

Wait, so every decision I ever considered making, I made in an alternate timeline...

He casually talks of exploiting other worlds like that's a good thing and its effects on their world doesn't matter...

Which ethically disgusts me.

And what if this timeline is such dogshit because somebody like him in another one is taking loads of good shit from ours?

When humans get new tools they do amazing things with them, yeah, like nuking Hiroshima [saracasm - nukes are bad, obviously].
Just because you can do something, it doesn't mean that you should.

The 2030s'd better look Ecopunk or like The Jetsons and not Cyberpunk or like Bladerunner.

I for one do not want to have to hide the children of mankind from the Plastic Gods that hunt us in the night, and pray that the void of the Lord accept our refugee souls that the machines seek to consume when they slay us on sight.

Would much rather be playing in the grass with my friends because all of our needs are automated and we've done away with money.

I'm reminded of a statement, "whatever God can do I can do better." Adolf Hitler 1940
You know what's fascinating about all of human history? A man stands up, plays God, gets a following, and millions die. Every, single, time.

It wil be not used for the good of us, thats the VERY BAD thing about it, specialy wen it is going to NASA :-(

Thank you for posting this WITHOUT background music. Background music has no place in a lecture or an interview. I tried to watch this at another channel and could not concentrate on his words because of the irritating, spaced out music droning in the background. Thank you!

I swear tech nerds and scientists have never seen Jurassic park just because you can doesn’t mean you should!!

I shifted universes. I realized one day that the entire geography of the world was way different all of a sudden. The history of things has changed. There's far more different animals here. My local map has changed, my hometown is 30 miles to the east of where it was. New towns and cities everywhere. New countries. Its a whole different world. Similiar to the world I was on but different. And it keeps shifting. I'm 36 and was well educated in history and the universe and it has changed for me and many others. Human anatomy and skeletons are different. Its called the Mandela effect. I believe quantum entanglement is involved. If the world hasn't changed for you then it sounds crazy. If the world has changed for you then you know what I'm talking about.

I think proving the existence will have an enormous impact upon out way of life way beyond anything we can imagine, especially on the larger scale

We can do it, but SHOULD we? What are the moral implications? “Scientists are actually preoccupied with accomplishment. So they are focused on whether they can do something. They never stop to ask if they should.”

The Mandela effect is not being done by going into different parallel universes, the Mandela effect is being done by having our memories that once you have made a decision is then stored in earth electromagnetic field and it is that information that is being changed, water has memory and it is held in its electromagnetic field so electromagnetic fields hold information of everything it comes in contact with, the parallel universes is a smoke screen to stop people debating on people disappearing from existence, see I believe there's a ripple effect that is leading to people being deleted from existence, when they change the information by powerful magnets being turned on and off in sequence to create an electromagnetic frequency that interacts with earth electromagnetic field, they are changing memory which is our history, changing history creates a new reality, so someone who was once alive may not be born in the new timeline. This technology needs policing or the world needs to know what is being done.
