I know he's a criminal but that line broke me

Did anyone else find this unsettling? Not because "the government is spending too much on prisoners" or because "death penalty should be abolished" but because these last meals made these people, these criminals, so real? They all did cold callous things so we tend to dehumanize them and consider them animals, but in reality, they were still humans. They were all once children, they all had favorite foods. I bet some of these guys chose meals that there moms or grandmas use to make. They probably had memories associated with them. I'm not saying they don't deserve what they got....but who are we to take someone's life, and how can a human become so evil?

the man who said he was saving his pie for later had shot himself in the head and lived, so he had serious brain damage and likely didn't understand he was being put to death after his meal.

I don't know, mostly this just makes me sad. I know these people did horrible things but the prospect of selecting your last meal before being killed is terrifying. Like your eating your way to the finish line or something

I think that the "last meal" is some sort of mental torture for the prisoner, like every bite you take is a step closer to death. It's kind of mind blowing and scary when you see their last meal because even though these people have done horrible things, they were once innocent little children whose favorite food was Mint Chocolate Chip Icecream...

okay that guy who left his pecan pie because he was "saving it for later" kinda creeped me out...

The guy watched lord of the rings trilogy, He wanted to put his mind into a state of fantasy, and forget about this reality, what a brilliant way to die. Trully he died in peace. I bet the part where gandalf said 

“PIPPIN: I didn't think it would end this way.

GANDALF: End? No, the journey doesn't end here. Death is just another path, one that we all must take. The grey rain-curtain of this world rolls back, and all turns to silver glass, and then you see it.

I bet he teard up, and was ready for death. And did it with no fear, with just joy in his heart, and its beautiful to think that these movies, that what the author did had so much power over so many lives.

I was told and not sure if this is true; but the last guy knowingly asked for the olive when he was actually allergic to it and died of anaphylactic shock

I know this sounds insane, and I know all these people are very bad, but this video actually made me sad. It really struck me with the reality of death, even though it was just there last meal, not there last words or breathe. I don't know.
