Epic Long-Term Review, thanks Tomas! I don't use mine except for set dressing in my videos, but it's a nice piece of hardware. I just wish the Xeon chips had Intel's Quick Sync which makes exporting my long 4K projects much faster on an iMac, and it's hard to pass on that 5K display.

My PC workstation works fantastic. Specs come into play when you need to do rendering, especially if you have pressing deadlines. The only issues I have on my set up is if Adobe screw up things. Apart from that, I love working on my machine and it has served me endlessly well.

I don't mind apple selling us 4 year old hardware as long as the user experience is still top notch, what I have a problem with is when they sell you 4 year old hardware for state of the art prices.

I have the same Mac Pro and have been using it without any issues now since 2017. Full Adobe suite is a breeze to work with.
It's still a beautiful machine to look at and as the Author of this video said, 'It just works'

Great...thanks for the post. I purchased my Mac Pro when it went on sale last year (Price drop of $1000.00 and 6 cores and 16 gigs of RAM). It works very well when running my Linux and windows virtual computers. I upgraded the RAM to 32 gigs and the machine is running great. Thanks again

That unexpected curse word though! Ha. I sold my Mac Pro a year ago and don't regret it. The 5K iMac IMO is a better all around package. I just wish the Mac Pro would get an update like you said. What a wasted piece of hardware for them to be abandoning.

Good video bro! As a lover of Mac OS and Apple products I do have to disagree with you on the module design of this computer. This is one of the reasons I switched to PC. Yes, some of the parts are upgrade-able but in a limited way. The CPU upgrades are dated, the internal SSD upgrades are slower, and the GPU is non upgrade-able like you said. It's nice to have the peace of mind knowing Apple's warranty and repair service is one of the best but at the end of the day it is still not cheaper than just buying a part and replacing it yourself. The Mac Pro Tower is still the best computer IMO and I would love to get one and customize the internals myself. In any case awesome job Tomas and thanks for the video!

That plastic port panel on the back sure shows a lot of dings.

Absolutely 100% agree with you! I am a macuser myself. I want a Mac Pro, but i think for me, it might be safer to wait for an update... As it might be just around the corner...

Man your videos are Crisp and clear! At one point I was thinking about getting a Mac Pro, but since my iMac is still working flawless, I'm just going to build a Windows based PC, have the best of both worlds and save a ton of money in the process! Great video as always Brother!

Hi Tomas, thank you for this second part of the review, 3 years later. There are a lot of people that complains about the outdated specs of the mac pro, but I completely agree with you about the fact that the user experience should be the first thing to consider when you work. You have to be able to do your job focusing on the job itself, and not on solving problems with the machine and / or the operative system. This is basically the reason because I've stopped using windows based machines for working. The price stays insane, and we all agree on it, but still after using a mac pro 3.1 (2008) for eight years, I'll probably upgrading to this new one (even if it's not "new" so much anymore). I think I'll be able to see a big improvement anyway, and I hope I'm gonna use this machine for at least eight years more. Thanks again for your point of view!

Great video Tomas. Just bought a used Mac Pro 2013 for video editing. Hope my videos can look as good as yours. What PCI-e drive did you upgrade too? Just wondering what worked for you. Thanks.

Hello Tomas, thank you so much for this video. It's 2018 now and I'm watching this and I'm currently have the option to trade my two-year-old PC to a guy who wants to give me his 2013 Mac Pro. I would love your advice, since I'm a Mac guy as well but tried to make a Hackintosh and had a lot of problems. I want to move back to a solid platform. Do you suggest I go ahead and trade my PC, for the late 2013 Mac Pro? I will eventually put more ram in it than 16gb and try to upgrade the SSD hard drive. Please advise.

Hi Thomas, we're all are anxious waiting for the new mac pro.its already been 3 years.come on Tim!
Btw, have u had a chance to compare the Bizon and the Sonnet? I'm thinking of having the external thunderbolt pcie to be able to use nvidia gpu, like the new GTX1080.

Excellent review! I worked in a computer store while in college, way before there were ‘Apple Store’s. I have always loved Apple since the IIe! Haha I’ve been outta touch with the tech advances and just recently started researching to buy a ‘new’ Mac and WoW things have changed so much. Anyway, in my sea of confusion, you offered me a wee island on which to rest! Excellent review and I have subscribed! Thank you, handsome!
