YO! Looks like Nikon is listening! The newly announced Z9 (October 2021) now has GREEN confirmation when using AF-C! The Z9 also includes 3D focus with intelligent subject tracking as well as some new dynamic sizes (S, M, L). They've also announced that picking the size of your focus point will be possible with a future firmware release. Nice. But can we get it for the Z6 II as well?!?

I was smiling when you complained about waiting 2 seconds to get the view of the shot done. I learned the profession of a photographer in 1980. We used Polaroid in Hasselblads or large format and then waited half a day to get back the developed films or prints. So 2 seconds a relative luxury :)

Hi, where is the option that’s mentioned at 7:50 so image review is like that of a DSLR, ie the picture is only displayed on the monitor when you pull the camera away from your face? This is how I want my Z6 to work but can only find three options in the image review menu, “On”, “Monitor only” and “Off”. This appears to be the same in the both Z6 and Z6ii manuals I’ve looked at. Thanks.

Owning the z6II body, bought last december. Loving it… for the cheap price as it is it’s an absolute beast

Study what U1, U2 and U3 can do for you and (some of) your hate turns into Valentine's Day ... 😍

One of the function buttons in the front can be set to playback so you can use your right hand only and don’t need to use top left back bottom to review images.

My biggest complaint with the z7ii customization is when certain functions can't be mapped to a function button.

There is a very easy way to close the shutter when you are changing lenses with this camera. While the camera is turned on, take the battery out. That will automatically close the shutter. Then you remove the lens and you will notice that the shutter is closed and you can change lenses without anything getting to the sensor. Then, after putting on the new lens, you put the battery back in and make sure the camera is turned on. You will see on the screen it says to press the shutter button. That will open the shutter again and the camera will run as normal.

All of us subscribed to this channel know that Omar's use of "Hate" is an abbreviation of "I mean I like this camera but I don't but at the same time I do.. I mean there are positives... so I don't fully dislike it but I will critique it cause I would love it more if..."
Which is just one of the reasons we love him 😂 even though we #FUJI4LIFE, he's still giving us unbiased reviews by showing us the positives and critiques instead of just saying "no. I HATE IT. It's not fuji. That's all I have to say."

I've had my Z6II for about three weeks and am loving this camera, was a bit of a learning curve (came from a D7100), as I often 'focused and recomposed' so I'm still adjusting to the AF. Also still adjusting to the EVF, not used to that yet, lol.

I’m about to buy a backup body for my Zf. For stills only, would you say the Z5 is similar to Z6ii? The Z5 is like $995 now, and the Z6ii is just under 1500.

I desperately wish the camera had a “dslr” mode like you describe at 8:00, but it definitely doesn’t work that way. There is no combination of settings and viewfinder modes that will allow you to shoot uninterrupted in the EVF and then pull the camera away from your eye to automatically review images on the monitor.

all those buttons in the bottom right corner...how many times have I fat-thumbed the Menu button when all I want to do is zoom in on an image to have a quick look!

To avoid exposing the sensor... camera ON, open the battery door and remove the battery. Remove the Lens and see the shutter curtain is down. This should be fixed by FW...

How can you review your shot by pulling back from the camera? I can't find that option by the life of me. I have the Z5 and Z50 and can't make that work.

Sounds like you could use a Fujifilm mirrorless camera.

Last month I was planning a move from Nikon DSLR DX (D5500) to mirrorless FF.
I was torn between the Z5, the Z6 and the Z6ii.
In the end I bought a Z6ii as I can see many of the things you hate (want) coming after the Z9 release via firmware.
They proved thed can do it with the recent Z6 firmware.
But the tiltable portrait screen - we are stuck with landscape.

I have made a note of some of things you want, to see what happens. At the moment there is so much for me to learn.
