Season 16, Episode 33: Sesquicentenary - such a satisfying word to say, and satisfying news this week with confirmation that the 150th anniversary of Test cricket will be celebrated in Melbourne come March 2027. It leads plenty of news about scheduling and international cricket as we look ahead to what a post-Stokes England team will look like, with a preview coming in their series against Sri Lanka. Around the world, we've had a thrilling Test at Guyana, a groundbreaking week for Ireland's women, and finals weekend of The Hundred as they prepare the sell the clubs. For all this, it's Adam Collins in Scotland for The Final Word's Edinburgh tour and he has Daniel Norcross with him, en route to commentate the Old Trafford Test.

Nice chat. I'm just going to point out the obvious that Daylight Savings has no place in tropical environments. I can understand, having lived in London before, that wanting more sun is a blessing and people really embrace summer there when it comes. But in places like Queensland, the sun is ever present and is actually oppressive in summer.

Smoking during a cricket pod with antennas out the ear. Now I’ve seen it all. Agree with smudge down however no clear solution. Interestingly guys like Marsh don’t have to be thought about as openers, as they don’t have the correctness too. So in a sense Marsh gets protected, no where but 6, whereas Green has to maybe open because he’s better !

Can green open given his health concerns? Surely he can’t bowl more and open without adequate rest.

Regarding the stadium situation, I actually went from proud that Brisbane is hosting the Olympics, to now embarrassed. I really hope that after the election we get some sensibility and get a new stadium. If Perth and now Hobart can build a new stadium without the Olympics then surely Brisbane, Australia's third biggest city and future host of the world's biggest sporting event, can build a new stadium.

Are those Brain Antennas Daniel's got on his ears? Something to signal the extra terrestrials to take him back? We won't let him leave Earth, YOU HEAR ME?
