Jordan from Reason to Doubt joins me to debate my own unique take on the argument from Messianic Prophecies based on the unique circumstance of "Jesus as Jewish Messiah or Bust".

Interesting conversation, thanks both.
I find Jordan’s counterarguments quite compelling.
Two comments for Dale.
1) I think it is really important for Christians to find Messianic prophecies that state clearly that the Messiah will be executed and then resurrected, of the kind referenced in Luke 24:27 (would we not like to know exactly what Jesus said?).
I don’t see any such prophecies in the OT,
Do you think that there are there any such?
2) It seems to me that, in spite of your talk of ‘proof’, you are actually arguing messianic prophecies pointing to Jesus on the basis of inference to the best explanation.
Is this so?

1:15:00 Elsewhere the old testament lists a whole host of names that will be applicable to the Messiah, therefore, in the framework of the bible, the baby could be named Jesus, and still have all these other names apply to Him.
