Matt: let's debate biblical prophecy. Give me your best example.
Samuel: I don't have one. It's context.

Before watching this debate, I prophesied that Sam Nesan would suffer a humiliating defeat. After 3 hours, Matt fulfilled my prophecy.

Maybe you need to start demanding people submit a written argument of thier points before allowing them on the debate cause this was terrible. They should at least be able to provide soemthjng. Not "if my interpretation is right thannim right".

This was a shit show, and although I think Matt won, he did not have a good showing here. He needs to stop worrying about what the idiots in the chat say and just focus on the debate. Half of them are trolls anyway, and he's been feeding them a lot lately.

Wow so I was a bit unsure if Jesus was real and had fulfilled prophecies but after listening to Samuel's arguments im definitely sure none of that happened.

Q: Did Jesus Fulfil Prophecy?
Nesan: Yes, but I can't name one.

When I see people trying to prove Biblical prophecies, I imagine Charlie Day in front of his conspiracy board.

He’s not the messiah. He’s a very naughty boy.

Matt's reaction to Samuel's response when he asked if a mathematical formula is more clearer then Isaiah 53 was priceless. 1:09:35

It is ironic that Samuel stresses to read the prophecies in their specific context, but does the opposite. In the texts as written, they are not presented as prophecies and they only can be interpreted as being prophecies when you take them out of their context and put them in a broader context that you impose on the text and is nowhere found IN the text. This is literally what it means to take something out of their context. The writers of Genesis had clearly no idea of a coming massiah and did not make prophecies about it IN the text. Those ideas arose later in other people and only when you take the passages out of their original context and put them in the later one you might be able to make them fit, but even then isn't more than speculations.

Matt totally destroyed this guy. I just don’t understand why he was getting upset at what ppl say on the internet? Like he did in the middle of the debate, just turn off the chat lol.

I'm three minutes into listening to Sam and I can't take anymore. This topic is just dumb.

"Are lemons real?"
"Well, I have a 1990 Toyota Corolla with over 200k miles on it. That is a by definition a miracle and I don't know how we can argue that."
"That's not what I asked, first of all. Second, I would be shocked if it DIDN'T have over 200k miles as Toyotas are known to be long-lasting well engineered cars."
"Proof of a designer."
"None of this has anything to do with the question of whether lemonade is the perfect summertime drink. This is pointless"

Every debate I've seen so far.

Samuel was a dishonest coward, who tap danced around EVERYTHING Matt said. He does not deserve to ever be on here again.

Matt, stop reading the chat ffs. To quote Polanski....Forget it Matt, it's Chinatown.

Matt won this debate...no question. Thanks for the great time!
P.S....Some advice:
Samuel: If you are going to debate a topic come prepared to answer all possible questions (please lose the 'ad hocs').
Matt: some of your fan base are MDD addicts and LOVE to see you shine with your execution of your well though out viewpoint(s). This debate is a great example. Please consider that and debate again on MDD.
James: Your enthusiasm for the obvious difficult task of moderating these events is infectious. Don't take the criticism too seriously! I think you do great work! Keep it up! Thanks!

The moment Samuel couldn’t verbalize an actual prophecy, was the moment I knew he was on shaky ground. And he kept going on about interpretation, which attempts to give an out to the fact that what he says is what he believes.
