So when I put rocks in the shower It’s all “you’re ruining the flooring” and “where the hell did you get this many rocks” but when he does it, he gets paid?

Ok as someone whose done this a couple times- it really sucks. First off every single darn stone needs to be planned perfectly to funnel water towards the drain. Else, it becomes insanely moldy within a few days and you’re stuck either cleaning the shower every two days or having to redo your grout.
No hate towards the guy, it’s just a lot harder than it seems. It feels great on feet, but I can’t tell you how many times I’ve slipped and fell on river stone shower floors.

My sister has this in her shower. So wonderful on the feet. She also has a rain fall shower head. A really amazing experience!

As someone who's installed river stone in a shower floor, it sucks cutting those on a glued up mat, and it never 100% looks blended.

That's how I did my shower and it turned out great. When I sold my house it was the selling point because the guys wife loved the shower and floor to ceiling tile job.

Best way cause if not you can see the separation of ever tile. How I do it looks good and no cuts. Does not take as long as you think

As someone who has this; it’s really hard on your feet. Dont do riverstone. You’ll pay for it on an early morning when your feet are still swollen

You are 100% correct, I’ve done two floors, the first one in sheets the second one like you’re doing here, in the long run the second one was much easier and it turned out better

As a concrete cutter (residential, commercial and government jobs) I appreciate this mentality. My company will take a full extra day to knock out your job but you won't be replacing 10 feet of sheet rock on either side of each cut or core and after 2-3 swipes of a mop you'll never even know we were there and if it's residential or a good commercial client we won't even charge you for the extra day the estimator didn't account for. Love seeing other companies/people in the construction industry taking the time to do it right no matter who has to pay for the extra time.
