The girl reminds me of a encounter that I had with a group of 16 years old Jews at an airport . I was also 16 . These boys and girls were far ahead than me . Because they had a harder life and grew up quicker ? ( too quick ? ), because they were more intelligent ? This girl feels like a young 20 year old woman to me, not a 13 year old child

Most poignant, utterly heartbreaking, thank you for your compassionate and respectful report. Blessed be this family and all the survivors and their families. All the terrorists must pay.

Norah O'Donnell is a true professional at her craft, and a wonderful asset to CBS. She is caring and compassionate when interviewing people. She's the reason I subscribed to CBS News. Take care.

These attrocities and more happened for the palestinians on palestinisn land since 75 years, have you hear or see them? or that does not matter.
Each day Zionism organisation ( which you call it army or settelments on stolen land), doing that with the palestinians. as exemple: we have not seen this cover when a criminals zionism settelment burned alive a whole family in Hawara.

I saw a picture of a IDF solider carrying someone’s pet dog. It’s a small thing in the face of it. But still!

Thank you for reporting this, may more MSM start doing this. May God heal them of this trauma and heal their pain. Please God protect the hostages please give them an outlet to run from their captors.

INCREDIBLE!
What kind of shelter were they in that the terrorists could not find them?

And what about the Palestinians that have no where to run to escape to safety.

How about describing Hamas as Muslim murderers instead of militants

Excellent report; topical and quite emotional. I had to watch it a second time. Ms. O'Donnell's inclusion of the 2021 footage / interview was a bonus, the cherry on top.

To The 'Powers That Be':
For the benefit of 13-year old Renatta (sp?), a Taylor Swift fan extraordinaire, a coda, a beautiful, personal coda -- if Ms. O'Donnell hasn't already initiated it: If one of Taylor Swift's 'people'* would take it upon themselves to get in touch with Norah O'Donnell's 'people' at CBS News to get a contact number and physical address for Renatta, have the merchandising team put together a box of Taylor Swift's tee-shirts, sweatshirts, CDs and of course DVD and Blu-ray of her stratospheric box-office release, "Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour."

PRIMARILY the clothing items, since as we saw in the interview, the family was forced to say 'goodbye' to their own personal items. [Ed. - Thanks be to G-d they still have the / a dog, a precious reminder of how sweet and innocent life 'used to be.'] The cherry on top would be an autographed-in-person, publicity photo of Taylor Swift WITH frame, one that can be hung or displayed on flat surface.

. . . While I have some people's attention, surely a gift of "CBS Evening News" tee-shirts would be appreciated by all in these sad times of loss and desperation. [Surely, many people are saying, "Don't you realize Norah O'Donnell is WAY ahead of you and has already shipped her a box of CBS News clothing items? You underestimate her."]

"Thank you, 'CBS Evening News' and Norah O'Donnell. In two more years, by which time 'things have settled, ' a follow-up visit with the girl would be of interest to most viewers. . . . Plus, to Renatta, her immediate family and extended family at the kibbutz, stay safe, good luck and best wishes."

Funny thing is the Palestinians have been dealing with these types of things since the 1940’s but nobody bats an eye.

This girl has an obvious and severe digestive tract issue. Someone get hurt on raw milk raw eggs and meat so she can heal and live!
