I literally just tried this and my mind has been blown.  I honestly can't believe how much of an apple I was throwing away eating it the other way.  It really felt like the core wasn't there. xD

I've been eating apples and pears like this for years after I saw an older relative eat one like this. I'd just never thought about it before. There really isn't hard core and the seeds are soft too.

I find it hilarious how many people instinctively have a hostile and dismissive reaction to this without trying it even once. Just ate my first-ever apple like a boss—removed the stem, spat out the seeds. Sure enough, the so-called "core" was virtually undetectable. Never going back!

This is kind of stupid, if i wanted to eat the core, then i could easily to that, the only reason people eat it like that, is because the core is harder, has pits and doesn't taste as good, anyone else with me?
