I love Cliffe's work, and I say this with the utmost respect and love. He knows much more than me. However, that doesn't mean I can't point out his inconsistencies. If he truly thinks that finding your own church is 'self righteousness', why did he create his own church? Why not join one of the other 15+ in the area, or at least make an affiliate church of one of those 15? One might argue the church is an invisible, mystical body of believers, so the 'one church' is just people who follow the Gospel. This is one of the biggest problems I find with Protestantism. What if you interpret the Gospel different? It's more like 'if you interpret the Gospel the way *I* interpret it". Doesn't make sense to me.

Context. He was talking about denominations, Cliffe did not found a denomination, he founded a building and pastored a community of people. Very different than what he’s talking about

Church has two different definitions.

Church: The followers of Jesus Christ who’ve been reborn

Church: a religious institution or building

Cliffe is not saying “don’t build churches.” Cliffe is referring to Jesus praying that we may be one, in the truth that is Jesus Christ.

Even though we have different denominations, we should be unified in Christ.

He explained why at the very first part of their website. He would have regular bible studies with others in each others home and he decided to build a place for them to gather and study the bible. He then turned it into a church

I’m a Christian, andThere’s churches that except all I go to a church named green house and we except all and help them find there way, it’s not just about what we do or I do it’s about the relationship on your own that someone can help u find that’s why it’s important to go to church, but is very important to read your bible that’s how a relationship with him can start learning about him trusting him excepting him in your heart whole heartedly not just about making someone believe exactly what u want them to believe, it’s like a guide to help u see. Well the thing is, Protestants consider the “one church” as all the believers who accept the nicene creed. So they don’t think that different denominations are different “churches” in a sense that they think the church is just the group of believers in Christ

This is what happens when we are focused more on religion than Jesus Christ. The spirit of religion is strong, that’s what causes divide. We are all one in Jesus Christ through the unity of the Holy Spirit. Not because someone bows to the pope, which btw isn’t anywhere in the Bible.

No, he’s talking about denominations. So when he’s talking about church in this video, he’s talking about for example the Protestant church and the Catholic Church. He doesn’t say that there’s a problem with having multiple buildings or something. The difference between the churches (buildings and communities) and his church is that his church is for all people and not for only Protestants or only Catholics. I also don’t see where that is showing a flaw of the Protestant church because if you look at the history and how the Protestant church was founded, it shows that they actually wanted the church to still be one so that they’re still part of the Catholic Church but that certain things like the indulgence trade get "reformed“ because it didn’t follow the Bible’s teachings. They also wanted that everybody had access to the Bible so in Germany they translated the Latin Bible to German so that everybody could understand it. The catholic church at that time didn’t like that and didn’t want to have anything to do with those and so they forced them to found their own church (denomination).

Gotta get out of that mindset of tearing protestants down, and take those Catholic blinders off. Obviously you disagree with Cliffe here only because you want the Catholic church to be the one church. But I and many others think the papacy is an antichrist. I simply cannot trust anyone besides Christ who claims to forgive sins. Also the issues in Catholic traditions, like asking the dead to pray for you, confessionals, etc. Falsehoods like the eternal hell, purgatory, paying for people's salvation, I could keep going.
