How To Fix Unexpected WSL Error in Docker Desktop
In this video, we’ll explore common causes of the Unexpected WSL Error, including issues with the Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) integration and Docker settings. The Docker Desktop Unexpected WSL error encountered by some Windows users has been a cause of frustration and inconvenience for those who rely on Docker Desktop to develop, manage, and share dockerized applications.
Most common causes are may be caused by improperly configured permissions or by the lack of essential components, especially Windows optional Virtual Machine Platform. And the Docker Desktop Unexpected WSL error may appear if WSL is not installed on the machine. Also been linked to network problems, which makes the process of identifying and fixing it much more difficult.
Change the Command Prompt Settings:
1. Press the Windows key + S to open Search.
2. Type Command Prompt.
3. Right-click on the relevant result.
4. Select Run as administrator.
5. Click Yes in the UAC prompt that appears.
6. Now, right-click on the top bar.
7. Select Properties from the context menu.
8. Go to the Options tab.
9. Tick the checkbox for Use legacy console.
10. Click OK to save the changes.
Reset Winsock:
1. Press the Windows key + R to open the Run dialog box.
2. Type cmd.
3. Hold Ctrl + Shift keys.
4. Click OK.
5. Click Yes in the prompt.
6. Now, paste the following two commands individually and hit Enter after each to reset the corrupt or misconfigured network settings: ipconfig /flushdns and netsh winsock reset. Restart the PC.
