Blue Eyed People: This is Your Ancestor #genetics. Genetic testing has revolutionized our understanding of ancestry and familial heritage, offering individuals the opportunity to uncover their genetic origins and trace their ancestral history with unprecedented accuracy and detail. Through the analysis of DNA samples, genetic testing provides insights into ancestral migration patterns, ethnic origins, and familial connections, shedding light on the rich tapestry of human ancestry spanning continents and millennia. Here's an in-depth exploration of how genetic testing can unlock ancestral history: DNA as the Blueprint of Ancestry: Every individual carries a unique genetic code encoded in their DNA, which serves as a biological blueprint inherited from their ancestors. Through genetic testing, specific regions of an individual's DNA are analyzed to identify genetic markers, variations, and mutations that are characteristic of different populations and ethnic groups. By comparing these genetic signatures to reference databases and population samples from around the world, genetic testing can provide insights into a person's ancestral origins and genetic heritage. Tracing Ancestral Migration Patterns: One of the most compelling aspects of genetic testing is its ability to trace ancestral migration patterns and population movements over thousands of years. By analyzing patterns of genetic variation and distribution, geneticists can reconstruct the migratory routes and dispersal patterns of ancient human populations, illuminating the interconnectedness of diverse ethnic groups and the complex history of human migration and colonization. From the Out of Africa migration to the peopling of the Americas, genetic testing offers a window into the epic saga of human migration and settlement across continents and regions. Ethnic Origins and Population Admixture: Genetic testing can also provide insights into an individual's ethnic origins and ancestral admixture, revealing the diverse ancestral components that contribute to their genetic makeup. Through sophisticated algorithms and statistical analysis, genetic ancestry tests can estimate the proportion of an individual's DNA that is derived from different ancestral populations, such as European, African, Asian, or Indigenous American. These findings can offer a nuanced understanding of genetic diversity and population admixture, highlighting the complex interplay of migration, interbreeding, and cultural exchange that shapes human genetic diversity. #colors #blueeyes

Don't know how accurrate it is but I heard that blue eyed people are actually more sensitive to light and can see a bit better in the dark so that would be useful in places with less sunlight.

Quick explanation about eye pigments for people wondering about hazel and green eyes. Eye color doesn't come from different colored pigments. The color of pigment in everyone's eyes is brown. The color we see visually comes from the amount of pigment in the eyes. Brown has the most pigment blue has the least every other color like green and hazel are somewhere in between. The blue and other colors appear different than brown because of how they are structured and spaced in the eye. Think of how particles in the sky make the sky blue same thing with eyes. So the mutated gene that makes blue eye just tella the cells to produce less brown. Green and other colors could be half of the mutated gene like co dominance.

Is it not possible that more than one person generated this kind of mutation?

What about us with hazel eyes or green eyes. Where does that come from???

If i was a basic man from back in history i wouldve thought blue eyes in a sea of brown would be descendants of the gods.

I have green eyes, but my father has blue eyes, so I am one of the descendants of that person.

Also a note so fun fact
Brown eyed people tend to be more depressed in winter month because of slow melatonin intake
And
Blue eyed people have more sensitive eyes and is more likely to get gloucoma

I know having blue eyes has its price 😢

If bmue eyes is a recessive gene how was ine person able to pass the trait down if no one else in the world had it? Or am I missing somethint?

Mine r just weird. There’s a green/gray colour for the most part, but a ring of what some people call light brown and some people call amber ish. It looks like when you load up a brush with watercolor paint, and dunk it into a glass of clear water and it goes swirly.

What's interesting to me is that it's not that the "colour" is any different. It's the same pigment, but blue eyes have so little of it, that they scatter light light the sky does, so they appear blue

I’m pretty sure we didn’t all have brown eyes 6 years ago, 10 000 is probably closer

I always knew I was mutant. 🤪
My little brother might still be mad that he doesn't have blue eyes like I do.

So you're saying all brown eyers bought standard edition after release and Blue/Green eyers pre-ordered deluxe collector's edition.

Well, what about someone like me? I have central heterochromia, dark grayish blue on the outside, but yellow and brownish red on the inside towards the pupil
